Another thread on this sorry, I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer easily.. got leafspy pro and want to check the BMS version before the service next week.. so I go to the service menu and read ECU versions do I? What am I looking for when all the text comes up? Is it generic enough to post here to discuss if I need an update?
TIA

You're looking for the HV Battery software version.

As I understand it...

4NR4A and possibly 4B needs to be updated to 4NR4C.
6A, apparently, doesn't need an update.

Guess that's me fine then as I'm 6c. Shame as my SOH is 81%, I was hoping for a boost! Thanks both.

6C knew about 6A/6B.. Oh well.. What's the status of the car? Age, miles & SoH

Sorry, meant to say 6a!
30kwh 66 plate leaf 50,000 miles, 81% SOH
Keep that usage up and you should get it below the battery warranty level before the 100k miles is up.
IIRC that's 70% SOH?
It does seem very low for the mileage though.

Only just got the car but we'll easily do 15,000 a year in it. I'll treat it well but will keep a close eye on the SOH over the next 5 years!

The degradation curve would suggest
80.95% at 36 months
76.36% at 50k miles
Seems like age related degradation is higher in your instance.

Look at predicted degradation using warranty marker

Hmm, according to that chart the SoH reported by leafspy on my car of 78.8% isn't too terrible for a three year old vehicle. The strange thing though is that it still shows 12 bars.

I can't see any line that says HV battery on leaf spy ECU readings.
Dealer told me in March that mine didn't need an update.

I think the attached screenshot shows my version is 4NR6A - is that correct?
In which case, this firmware version doesn't need an update?

Or is is it 4NR0A 0563 BCM?

Actually, looking at it again I'm not entirely sure. There's something odd about that image, it's showing multiple occurrences of the same data and there's some ECU's missing off the bottom. Can you try another scan and see what you get. Looking at the progress bar, it looks to me as if the scan hasn't completed anyway. What version of LEAF is this for?

Just ran it again, now have a line saying HV battery, so quite sure that it doesn't need the BMS update.

Sometimes when u read the ECU I get what happened in the first screenshot but repeating it seems to have worked.

This is a March 2017, 30 kWh Leaf Tekna with 37,000 miles. I was having some doubts because I still seem to have 96.83% SOH which seems high and didn't know if it was related to a missing BMS update. I have, however, looked after the battery so maybe that's why it hasn't degraded much.

6A often reports 100+% SoH so I wouldn't worry too much

Leaf30 has approximately 3% capacity loss give or take. Whether you start from 100 or 110, loss will take place

I have a 2017 30 tekna with 6A. My SOH fluctuates between 97-101%. I thought WTF but have decided to just drive the car mixed trips done daily 8 mile and 600 mile round trips over 48 hours rapid charging 6-7 times. Consistently showing 120 miles on GOM at 100% charge, drive sensible on long trips and estimate 1 mile per 1% never been caught out. Just enjoy the car.
