Hi owned car 62 plate for 4 years no issues one month out of warranty failed to start engine warning light with ! Rac diagnostic P1A15 capacitor charging fault. Cleared code works fine. Put on charge (took a charge). Next morning same fault. Rac cleared code I drove 20 miles to dealership. Dealership run tests and now stating inverter failure. Part 1609580080 required. £4334 for part. They will put in a part I sourced. Anyone able to repair an inverter any advice appreciated. I can do spanner work removing parts etc. and can replace solder stuff if it’s clearly blown (like Australian imiev charger repair that I would competently complete) but don’t have electronics expertise to test. Will also post similar on imiev forum and will try most reasonable economic means of repair before I resort to scrapping the car (which will only reinforce the ICE communities preconceptions) thanks Terry

Check out myimiev forum under batteries, there is a dedicated thread for P1A15. Unfortunately there a lot of things that can cause the DTC code so if nothing else, you need some reassurance that all the steps in the NTSHA procedure have been followed.

Many thanks will check out dealership state identified fault code sent ticket to specialist dept France advised inverter fault. I have asked for clarification re NTSHA and results for my research. The code read was £85 and extra investigation charge was £250.😩

HI whereabouts are you based? You'd need to do some reasonably in depth fault finding before we could be sure what needs replacing, but most things are fixable one way or another depending on how comfortable you are with high voltage!

Cheers.

Hi, some extra stuff to consider

The MCU / Inverter is VIN coded to the car so get it in writing that your dealer or repairer can decide any part YOU supply.

If it turns out that the fault in not in the MCU, who pays for subsequent round of diagnostics, part replacement, labour?
