I have now added the tracker tariff as well as the Octopus 12M fixed to my comparison utility.
This analysis used a consumption of 0.2 kW in each half hour period, with 1.5 kW in 6 half hour periods over night for EV charging. (i.e. 9kWh of EV charging each night )
Analysis runs from 2020-03-01 to 2020-03-31 South West Region

You can input your own dates and consumption values in the utility at https://peter-thomson.com/process_octopus.py

Octopus Tracker values have to be added by hand and are currently for the previous year up to 31st March 2020
Agile values are collected automatically each day - except when the automatic process fails. The next day it will check for missing values.
As always, I cannot guarantee that my programming is correct, but if you select the same start and end dates you could check values for one day by hand

Very interesting. The Go Faster option for this user would surely have been 3 hours at 4.5p rather than 5 hours at 5.5p? It really should be lower cost than standard Go otherwise there would be no point of being on it.

Really interesting, I am in the West Midlands and was requesting to move back to Octopus Tracker Electric from Octopus Go as my vehicle is now just sitting on drive. I had assumed tracker with its lower daily standing charge and cheaper units charge due to the Covid 19 situations would be better. Is this saying there is no difference and you may be better staying with Go? I do turn on the dish washer and washing machine at 1am to try to get some Go benefit (using there in built timers so no big deal) while the car sits there doing nothing.

You need to open the page, add your own pattern of usage and select your own region and submit. The updated table should then let you see the values for your own situation.
The default is 0.2 kWh day and night:

This next is 0.2kWh in each half hour period in daylight hours but none over night - which is probably my pattern of consumption for the future. As my meter install has been cancelled I have asked to be moved to Tracker..

Octopus tracker drops to its lowest ever rate tomorrow as the wholesale price collapses on NordPool day rate for 5th April
Agile has negative pricing through daylight hours on the 5th as well.

Can I ask where you get the data for Tracker rates please? I recently moved on to this and the only source of information I'm aware of is by checking my Octopus account page on the day.

Is daylight only 10:30 - 16:00 where you live? ;)
Still an amazing outcome. Is this due to the German offshore wind farms coming online at the same time as the bottom falls out of the demand due to the Covid-19 shutdown?

Octopus publish an FAQ page for Tracker, Octopus Energy and they give the calculations used to calculate the Tracker price for each region How is the price of the Octopus Tracker calculated?. The price is based on the UK day ahead auction prices at NordPool
Market data | Nord Pool
You need to set the currency to GBP
Chart shows prices for the past year.
It is updated each day.

If my maths is right the Tracker electricity price tomorrow is looking like being about 6p/kWh... madness!

This is the only day in the last year where the Nord Pool price is Negative, I get a price of 6.22p/KWh including VAT which is not shown the formulae so your maths looks right, I think that is a bit unfair on Octopus as I suspect the formulae was designed to uplift the cost by 20%, not cost Octopus more if the price goes negative.

The only thing is that the daily billing is adjusted from monthly meter readings using a standard profile rather that using actual daily readings so no benefit of trying to adjust consumption based on forecast prices.

Yes I forgot about the VAT...

Agreed about the daily profile too but since the car is being charged very infrequently at the moment I don't feel like I'm losing out much being on Tracker rather than Agile. In fact we may be better off staying on Tracker until the car is being used in anger again.

The NordPool price has gone slightly positive again for Sunday at 0.367p although my dashboard says 0.33p giving a retail price of 7.9p so perhaps the big switch on should have been yesterday! I presume I'll get a 9.9p credit for every KWH this afternoon.

Tracker is currently a fantastic tariff for dual fuel for me, gas today is 1.47p retail.
