I can see no benefit to retaining the Rolec - swap the plug on the Ohme for a 32A commando and replace the Rolec with a 32A commando socket. The Ohme only uses the CP signal to limit its output, but will output the full 32A if not present/connected

Interesting. The CP that you are talking about it the one from the Ohme unit to the car? So does the EVSE fed Ohme normally command the full supply from the EVSE and then seek to manage all of the regulation with the vehicle from itself?

No, the one on the input side of the Ohme. The evse tells the car how much it can draw, when the Ohme is plugged into a type 2, it must honour the limit from the source evse. The 32a commando version assumes it can pull 32a and sends this value to the car

So how does rewiring the Type 2 input into a Commando plug get around the source EVSE no longer providing a limit? Surely it would error as effectively that would be no 1kHz signal on the CP with any PWM for the Ohme/Car to restrict to?

The source EVSE wouldn't be there if it was a commando unit surely?
Unless I've missed an EVSE that's come out and has a 32amp commando instead of a Type1/2 receiver?
