Hello folks!

I'm about to start a long-term rent (1 year minimum) of a brand new BMW i3s. I'm very excited for it!

However, my housing situation is that I live in a flat in Berlin, without access to a private parking lot or the like. Thus, I have to park overnight by the roadside, when I would like to charge. Of course there are some public chargers nearby where I could always go, but it seems like a hassle, especially because they may be occupied or may not work for some reason...

Has anyone had a similar situation and could share their workarounds or best practices?

Best, Claus

Sounds like you have no chance of getting the flat owner to install a charger. Extension leads are not a good idea if they might trip people up. Maybe you could rent a garage which has mains power in it? Failing that, move to a flat with basement parking or similar, where you can get mains.
