My scheduled delivery/collection day is 15 December. Dealer confirmed today that is still the case as their system hasn't been updated.

However, because of transporter/driver shortages they are now able to pick up the car from the docks themselves, circumventing additional delays.

Anyone else had their delivery updated or given a firm date yet?

Not as yet, we were talking about possible delays being improbable but is it wishful thinking or perhaps keep the customer on a short leash so they don't buy an MG4?

My dealer is in Nottingham so a quick trip to the docks isn't likely, is yours fairly close?

Your dealer is taking bollocks, I've sold Renault since 2002, it's never been a thing.

Delivery to dealer dates are given, they are never 100%, the info given needs to be managed by the dealer, to the customer in an appropriate way, as I and my colleagues do....... we don't bullshit!

I hope mine is treated well, the company Vauxhall use made a real mess of my Mokka so I'm worried. That said the issues were compounded by dealer stupidness but I guess many of us have had bad experiences.

I've heard the car was going up by an arm and a leg.
If they take bollox I'd be dealing with them entirely by phone!

I don't believe they are driving it. They are getting a smaller transporter to pick it up. Probably like Cazoo use.

Something odd happened.

No tracking works for me, it seems the app is supposed to update people too.
I really didn't want to log on but finally decided I should, gave it my VIN number, number (lolzzz).
Anyway my car build progress didn't come up but it did tell me my car was parked outside some posh apartments in Nottingham.

To take things further I couldn't get hold of my dealer so tried a chat session with Renault UK.
They said initially that all they could do was refer me to the app but would pass things up the chain since I'd already tried that.

I've now had notification that my car will reach the UK on the 25th all being well.
I'm less concerned about it being sat outside someone's gaff but now thinking about the horrors if the zebrugge ferry mishap although the ship will be somewhat larger with 1000's of other Renaults keeping it company.

I rang my dealer today, because I too have downloaded the app (similar lack of info), my sales rep isn't in until tomorrow. I always seem to ring when they are off!!

My print out shows 25/11 - 2/12 arrival in the UK.

So here's Mr Wishful Thinking. Only 300 Limited Editions built for the UK, (Limited Editions built first) how many cars does the ship carry? Surely, they will all be on the same ship.

I do wonder about the 300, is it globally or just UK?
In any event, if they built them all and did them first then how come other people have taken delivery of different models before ours have even been shipped. I'm sure there is a bit of misinformation doing the rounds.
I was told the checks they do are pretty exhaustive before they then allow them to trundle off to the dealer so a delay of 12 days I think was mentioned.

I was asked if I was going to drive round as soon as I got the car, showing it off. I think they were taken back when I said drive it to my house to load up all the crap I would have unloaded from my old car.

I might take a picture before it gets smothered in filth though.

Interesting how we get e-mails from Renault UK saying one thing, but doing something else.

I love the Launch Edition. It's still going to be a rare beast.

Another bunch out there is nowhere near the mickey taking stunt Vauxhall pulled.
Launch edition, bits no other model will have, will hold its price as it should be sought after.
Blah.
6 months later the Ultimate version gets the go ahead with exactly the same spec!
Wider choice of colours. Cheaper too.
My next comment needs to be asterisksed to buggery.

Doesn't appeal to me know, it's north of 40k now so in 2025 it's going to still have a couple of years of the £500 plus road tax

Electric cars over £40k aren't subject to the premium car tax rate, they will be from 2025 though.

That's exactly what I said! from 2025 you will be stung still for a couple of years of premium tax as it's for 5 years from second road tax

So not back dating "The Expensive Car Supplement", it will be applied on electric cars registered from 1st April 2025.

From 1 April 2025, all electric car owners will be required to pay the standard rate of road tax VED, which is currently £165 per year. EV drivers who own a car with a list price of £40,000 or more will also pay the £355 premium car tax rate, which will take their yearly VED rate to £520.
The new electric car road tax rate will apply to cars first registered on 1 April 2017, which means it'll be backdated to include millions of used EVs in the UK.

Direct quote from an article in Hey Car from the 17/11
If you car was over 40k and is less than 5 years old you your car will be liable for the premium tax, just because you bought it before 2025 you are not exempt, same as an electric car under 40k isn't exempt.

That is where my info came from, straight from the horses mouth, so to speak:

5.34 VED on Electric Vehicles (VED) - From April 2025, electric cars, vans and motorcycles will begin to pay VED in the same way as petrol and diesel vehicles. This will ensure that all road users begin to pay a fair tax contribution as the take up of electric vehicles continues to accelerate. The government will legislate for this measure in Autumn Finance Bill 2022. This means:
• new zero emission cars registered on or after 1 April 2025 will be liable to pay the lowest first year rate of VED (which applies to vehicles with CO2 emissions 1 to 50g/km) currently £10 a year. From the second year of registration onwards, they will move to the standard rate, currently £165 a year
• zero emission cars first registered between 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2025 will also pay the standard rate
• the Expensive Car Supplement exemption for electric vehicles is due to end in 2025. New zero emission cars registered on or after 1 April 2025 will therefore be liable for the expensive car supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement currently applies to cars with a list price exceeding £40,000 for 5 years
• zero and low emission cars first registered between 1 March 2001 and 30 March 2017 currently in Band A will move to the Band B rate, currently £20 a year
• zero emission vans will move to the rate for petrol and diesel light goods vehicles, currently £290 a year for most vans
• zero emission motorcycles and tricycles will move to the rate for the smallest engine size, currently £22 a year • rates for Alternative Fuel Vehicles and hybrids will also be equalised
