Would be interesting to know the shipment date of those that have had cars hit the docks, so the rest of us can hope or wallow in despair...

Apart from telling me that there was a car available to test drive, I've not really had any notification from my dealer at any point.

I find that doubtful as the first customer cars only docked a few days ago.

I don't think they guy has much to benefit from lying, I think it was on here where it was mentioned that the first boat with e techs landed on the 22nd.

Also seems to be some talk about vehicles being stuck at Bristol awaiting some additial options fitted.

Could be affecting all Launch Editions or just certain ones, but given that there's a fair amount of launch edition specific options for UK cars - Harmon kardon, digital mirror etc.

Just disappointing that the dealers seem to be a bit more uninvolved than most most would like given these are renaults flagship at the moment.

Last day of my expected delivery day today, renault have said it's in the country since end of November and awaiting a mirror...

Get the feeling jt won't be this side of Christmas for me.

Edit:
Order tracker blurb update;

In the current context of shortage of electronic components and transport, we are encountering disruptions in delivering vehicles: your Renault establishment is fully mobilized during this exceptional

Delivery estimate: 03/12 to 12/12
On 12/12 I was told my car hit port end of Nov and has been awaiting a mirror and I should have an update by end of the week.

Got a text today saying that there hasn't been an update and the exec agent is now chasing distribution again and to expect an update next week.

Wonder how bad it has to get before I get offered the nice renault box of jam and crackers.

At least I have some time to ask my dealer how they want the deposit for mine:

I have chased our distribution team for an update in regards to the delivery for your MEGANE E-Tech.

We are hoping and aiming to get this to our dealership by the end of the month. I will keep you updated with any changes.
More platitudes rather than information.

I've just received my second update this week from Renault - don't I feel loved.

Our distribution team have advised that your MEGANE E-tech is ready to be transported to the dealership. We are hoping this should be with the dealership very soon.
For reference, my expected delivery date was 03/12 - 12/12 on the tracker. Renault confirmed.ed my car hit port last week of November too.

No hamper for me though! Also, dealer has only contacted me once since ordering, and that was on 05/12 to tell me that they have my vin and I could set up in app.

The fewer options are when reverse gear is engaged.
You get the 4 options when going forwards.
From what Ive seen the whole lot was designed for the bigfer screen andcthen we were shafted into puttingbup with a stupid little screen which for many things is unuseable.
Even looking at phone contacts is screwed as the details are off the bottom of the screen.
If I spent all day phoning people from the car I would have akready smashed the effing thing.

Gaz
I should imagine, that with all the other issues you're having, your car may have been built with the radio controller being either the french variant, or running the french firmware. I should imagine what you're experiencing is pretty inline with what you would experience with a user interface operating on an incorrect resolution. Not that it helps you now, but I'd take some re-assurance in that it's unlikely your car is a lemon, just maybe not limey enough (excuse the pun).

Once it's corrected, I'm sure the UI will likely still leave you a little underwhelmed, but at least it won't be infuriating.

I guess that explains your consumption figures.

We are being royally screwed in the UK
Honestly, I think the only thing Renault have screwed up, is not being more up front with the differences. I think it's one thing omitting it from the spec sheet, but I think they need to call it out. For example; "height adjustable driver and passenger seats with electric lumbar adjustment " Literally just throw the word "Manual" at the start, and you're good. "two zone automatic climate control with humidity sensor & air recycling " and add "without heat pump" to the end or "with only electric powered heating element" or something.

If you go to renault.fr and configure a launch edition(iconic) with all the options we thought we would get (advanced parking, heat pump, 360 camera etc.) You're looking at £45k equivalent, before additional transport costs to UK (and whatever levy the current gubbermint want, because who know's what that is).

Would you pay £47k+ for a Renault? Maybe you would, maybe you're a Renault-stan, but I'm not. £36 - £40k puts it at a competitive (if slightly "premium") position against German, Korean, and, Chinese offerings.£47k and I'm buying a Polestar, or looking at a year old Model 3, or negotiating hard on a GV60, I'm probably not giving the Megane much extra thought if I'm being honest.

Personally, this car ticks a lot of boxes, increased amount of post consumer recycled products, reduction in rare earth metals (comparatively), increased use of aluminium (less weight, more recyclable). Am I bummed I'm losing 3-5% efficiency for no heat pump? Sure, but that's only because electricity prices are up. Am I bummed about no auto park? Not really, I'd use it once as a gimmick.

I'm not wishing to sound crass, but you can pay a lot more for less spec than we're getting. Looking at the spec, the launch edition, is the base iconic + 360 camera and some of the advanced pack, and without electic seats (or "leather") and missing the dash lighting. And, that's about where it's priced.

If people aren't happy, they can vote with their wallets there is plenty of alternative choices. You can get a base spec ID.3 for 36k, but that's roughly same as the base e-tech just more "german"... You could get an Mg4, in 14 months. etc.

The people comparing consumption has been frankly hilarious. I've seen a similar post to the one Gaz mentioned above on one of the EV forums, except it was a dual carrier and a car full of people getting 2.4mi/kwh, to which someone responded that their e-niro gets 300 miles city driving in perfect conditions therefore the Megane is a terrible rip-off.

Some people have had a bit of an experience so far (myself included), but ultimately, I'll still be looking forward to my car. I'm sure Gaz will be happy again once his car has the correct software (and probably a complimentary boot floor, granny cable, car cover and a boot full of hampers judging by the level of complaining he seems to be capable of - I jest), and, I'm sure everyone will be happier with the consumption come warmer seasons.

Had a "good news" phone call from the dealer.

Car should have been picked up from port today, should be with them tomorrow.

Looking like first week of Jan collection, so not a December collection, but will be glad to have it.

Car still hasn't been delivered to the dealer, had a "we're chasing up our previous chase up" text from renault yesterday evening, and my sales guy called me (I'm shocked he exists!) saying they're hoping today, and they'd still like to get it delivered this month.

It's really not the waiting that's annoying me, it's the hopes and wishes that bother me. If the dealer had rung at the start of the month to say "car's at port, needs a rearview mirror, don't have an eta on that but we're confident it'll be ready to deliver first 2 weeks in Jan" then I'd be happy to get a call today saying that they're expecting my car today, instead of mildly annoyed.

But, I don't have a hamper, so maybe my car has mats, an alarm, locking wheelnuts and is set to English.

So Jan 1st.

No car for me yet.

Dealer seems to have lots of trouble responding to any queries, but no problems getting me to send rest if my deposit, sign approval for registration and starting off my finance.

Would have no bother if dealer had done that and I was picking up on the bank holiday, but they've not even confirmed an actual date at this point.

Contemplating unwinding the deal with this dealer and just asking Arnold Shark to get me a cancellation at this point. Genuinely don't think this dealer has done anything to deserve my custom.

My dealer isn't open on a Sunday, and no doubt no dealers aren't open today.

What about tomorrow, are they closed then as well?
Mine is open tomorrow, think their Facebook page said sales is 10-170 no service staff in.

My wife also works in the motor trade and her dealership is fully open (sales + service) but on Sunday hours.

So your mileage may vary.

Another day without contact from the dealer.

Emailed the dealer chain customer services, as they are not forthcoming with any dealer/gm contact details.

Thank you for your email, we are working hard at this time to respond as quickly as possible. However, this may take up to 28 days as per the Financial Ombudsman service standards. We will do our utmost to get back to you sooner.
Helpful.

Surprisingly I have received a response to my email from their brand manager this morning, and a missdd call from their sales controller.

Miracles never cease.

Well, about that. Dealer doesn't have my car yet.

The car that was registered 30/12 and has finance running dated from 20/12.

Honestly this has been - hands down - the worst car buying experience I've had. And I've had some corkers over the years.

I've told the brand manager I'll call him back this afternoon, but after he's provided info that they knew the car wouldn't be arriving in Dec, but still registered it without updating em on that information makes me apoplectic.

I'm not even sure what's reasonable to ask for given the situation. Not even sure it should be reasonable as this is a thoroughly unreasonable situation.

So I picked my car up the other day.

Happy enough with the car, but the dealership still rubbed me the wrong way, lots of harrumping about delivery being a mess, even though my complaint was about their lack of updates.

Anyway,

Only thing that seems to be not working on mine is the lane assist. Although, there could be more, but figuring out how to get all of the multimedia stuff actually signed up seems to be a bit of a nightmare. Managed to get the media system stuck in safe mode for a bit too. I read on the book about factory resetting this, and click a world icon here, and all that doesn't seem relevant for the etech.

Ah well, wonder if hitting the brake and accelerator just right does a screenshot

Yeah, I'm one of those guys who, when told not to do something, it is normally far too tempting.

Think a really long press on the multimedia power button is what brought it back round to regular mode.
