Delivery Forecasts.

My scheduled delivery/collection day is 15 December. Dealer confirmed today that is still the case as their system hasn't been updated.

However, because of transporter/driver shortages they are now able to pick up the car from the docks themselves, circumventing additional delays.

Anyone else had their delivery updated or given a firm date yet?

I watched a few YouTube review’s about the Renault Megane E-Tech and downloaded the Brochure. It didn’t take me long to decide I wanted one… I rang my local dealer last week and was told they had some coming in, mid to end of December. I asked about the Launch Edition and was advised there would be some of them. I have ordered a Launch Edition in Shadow Grey/Black roof. I am advised I should get it 3rd week of December… I have had several electric cars. The Megane E-Tech ticks all the boxes for me…

That's interesting, same sort of time frame as those fulfilling priority list orders, am feeling more confiden of actually getting a car in December now!
As of today, I'm still being told 15 December, but my dealer will provide me with a car should my current car be sold in the next week or so.
I was told that mine should arrive in the country between Nov 23rd and Dec 9th. Then it takes ~10-14 days to get to dealer where it usually adds another 5 days to perform final checks.

This means that in reality if it is delayed we will hit Christmas shut down and as such it could be next year, but if it all goes smoothly then late december. Was shown my vehicle on the system with all dates given - so if delayed to next year it won't be a long delay.

First delay...

"We can now see that it is loaded on the transport ship, which is due to arrive at our import centre on Sunday 27/11, it will be offloaded on Monday 28/11, will then undergo the quality and other checks that are needed before it can be put on a transporter to be delivered to the dealer by 12/12"

Do you know which port it is going to?
Do you know which port it is going to?
Hopefully one in the UK, I thought they were only going to one place though.
I heard there are more hitting our shores on 6th Dec so must be about to see loads knocking around within the next couple of months.

I think they all enter the UK via portbury docks in Bristol that's where my dealer said it would go

My dealer has told me it will come off the boat at Portbury. Bristol. Pretty massive set up down there.

I'm getting no updates from my dealer despite one of the staff there saying their system should be able to give accurate tracking.

I would like an accurate forecast, due to deciding exactly when to release my current car.

As my dealer is happy to provide me with one of their cars, l contacted my insurance company. They say, if the gap between selling my car and getting my new car is 7 days or less, then there's no issue (other than the fact I have to tell them it is sold, just in case someone else has a RTA of commits a road traffic offence). If it's longer, I will have to terminate my policy and then, request a new Insurance quote for the new car when it arrives (the assumption is they provide me with NCB details). However, If I sell my car after the 6th Dec, they will give me 14 day grace, (this is because I will have owned my current car for over 1 year.

Why is everything so difficult?

I had a look to see if I could sell the mokka but it didn't go well.
Might have been able to make an extra 3k and buy a short term runaround for under 2k and keep my policy going.
Turns out the offers were well under the estimate so dealer can have the car.
I think most people wouldn't have bothered to tell insurance until they wanted to change the car to the new one but insurance companies require that they are kept 100% updated.
Tracking wise, what I found was signing into the app told me the car was parked outside some swish flats in Notts so I phoned Renault UK to find out ifvthey had a proper UK tracking page I could use and to mention the oddity in the app.
Next thing I got a call back from someone who is giving me and my dealer updates which are possibly a bit more realistic than others are getting.

Perhaps if you DM me with your VIN I could ask if your car is in the same shipment as mine then you'd have some confidence that yours should be ready at the same time as mine.

It is impossible to give accurate delivery info, there will an approx week window of when it will be arriving into the docks and once arrived the arrival to dealer dates given cannot be relied upon 100%.
Hi got told that a load of Megan's arrived on the 22/11 and should be at dealers first 2 weeks of December.
I made my weekly call. No better up to date info, other than on time!! 15th Dec.

That would match with what I was told, arrived on 22/11 and available for pick up middle of December, dealer had a few cars available, all specs and a few colour combos. Said they were getting a lot more than they expected
I'm not complaining, but don't you think it's bizarre that Renault pushed this Priority List said Only X number of cars being produced and now there's this apparent surplus.

Can anyone explain this?

The MG4 came out 10k cheaper?
Like I said the dealer was surprised but as you can imagine happy to be getting more than they initially though, he even had a list of vin numbers, specs and colours

Not for the trophy it's £32k, it also comes with an oil leak, I'll fitting undertray/ muck catcher a dangerous LKA described by head of innovation at the Chorley group as trying to kill you , software full of issues and tendancy to lock it's occupants within, with no way of getting out.
But it is a bargain
Well at least I'm getting emails direct from Renault "Get ready for your Megane". Set of 4 emails to come.

Download the App. Already done.
