Hiya - I'm thinking of buying a Kona Electric and ideally want a detachable towbar for a bike rack. I know Hyundai don't offer one, but has anyone had any joy with an aftermarket one? One that doesn't require bumper cuts or bypass relays so I can fit it on a PCP-leased vehicle? Thanks, Martin

Brink do one of their EV ones with the extra tabs that can't tow but can be used with a bike rack. Part 663800.

It does need an "invisible" (ie not visible when normally looking at the car) cut to the undertray, which completely covers where a towbar has to exit. Any towbar with electrics will need splicing into existing wiring.

I found my insurance company (Admiral) were happy to insure my car with a Brink tow bar modification, even though not main dealer fitted. In one of the other threads someone put a Independant's supply/install quote of around £450 I think - but that was hundreds of miles from me and the closest place to me wanted over £700, so I have not yet gone for it.
