Hi all,

Bought some roof bars for my e-Niro and upon fitting them I found one was too long to go between the rails. However it turned out they are both the same length, but it is the rails themselves which are not evenly spaced along the length of the roof. Is this normal? The bars I bought are not exactly the world's highest quality (based on price) so maybe this is normally catered for but thought I should check.

Back:

Thanks

Mark

I would have expected the bars to have some adjustment to fit the rails. I’m guessing, not checked but would think the car would be slightly wider at the back.

some of the cheaper ones have specific front/back bars.

But the better ones are adjustable.
I use atera signo aerobars, and they have sliding feet.

Probably more likely to be the opposite actually; our Passat estate roof rails narrowed towards the rear, easily visible from the sliding roof bars (I also had the Atera Signo Aerobars - highly recommended and fit many models of car)).

Thanks all. That confirms the bars are at fault. I'll probably just trim the aluminium down to make it fit.
