They have changed the default colour from "silky silver" to "runway red". The one I have on order for ETA end of July will be this colour, but I only heard that yesterday. Previously the dealer thought it would be the silver. Web sites are not up to date yet. A Google image search for e-niro runway red will shows you plenty of examples.
Any idea on if they have changed anything else or only that? Apparently the Red is a Solid Red so not a metallic colour? When I spoke to the dealer they also said Silky Silver would be the default colour so they didn’t seem to know either.
very, VERY annoying 😡. Red would have been my colour choice. My dealer (who was useless in all other aspects of the purchase experience) assured me that they didn't manufacture red e-Niros, only the hybrid and wouldn't be doing so at any time in the future.😤🤬
Darn - the silky silver colour turned out to be the worst feature of the car! Would love a red car!! Looks like a courtesy car or long term hire in silver!
Yes, I'm quite pleased with the unexpected upgrade on mine. That said, if I wanted / had the opportunity to pay for a custom colour I think I'd have chosen the pearl white.
My PHEV is red, not sure if it's Runway red, but that does ring a bell. FWIW it is a metallic colour and is quite nice IMO. It was certainly the nicest colour available at the time I got my car anyway.
Runway Red has been available from day 1 in Ireland on the e-Niro. It's definitely metalic
