Does the E-Niro, specifically the First Edition, have Ecall?

I wasn't aware of this either.

So is there a dedicated manual button for this in the e-niro?

AIUI if you have a crash hard enough to deploy the airbags the ecall system will notify emergency services of your exact location.

I don't think we have it.
I've searched through the car manual, and the uvo guide and I cannot find any mention of ecall at all.
The spec for the new soul ev does have ecall listed in the specification.

My suspicion is that the rule that "all new cars from April 2018 must have ecall" means from date of type approval.
The soul is a brand new car. The e-niro is a revision to a 2016 car.

Can anyone find any reference to it for the e-niro?

That's just a "facelift" update to the existing platform I think

In the 3 series it’s a covered SOS button next to the interior mirror, fortunately never had to use it, but I believe in a serious crash it self activates. If less serious but you’re still stuck you can manually activate a call. I think in other models it’s just an automatic feature that wouldn’t necessarily be obvious?

So presumably if there isn't such a button there is no eCall functionality.?

Not sure if that was mandatory.

But sadly it does look like the eNiro isn't fitted with it.

Kia UK say: We can confirm the Niro family doesn't yet have eCall but the Soul EV does due its new generation going into production around 3 years after the Niro.
