In the 3 series it’s a covered SOS button next to the interior mirror, fortunately never had to use it, but I believe in a serious crash it self activates. If less serious but you’re still stuck you can manually activate a call. I think in other models it’s just an automatic feature that wouldn’t necessarily be obvious?
