I’ve always either done my own work on my cars, or at minimum my own troubleshooting and diagnosis before taking them in. Is there a service manual for the egolf? There are a lot of details that are important to understanding the interrelation between the high and low voltage systems, electronics and mechanical systems, etc. The only thing I have found is a Chiltons online subscription ($30/year). Anyone have experience with this or have a different option to recommend?

I I'm just booking on my third year service and when I questioned the extra cost this year I was told the first two years are inspection only and this year there are things that need changing.

So I've paid about £245 so far for them to look at my car. This year they want another £240 as there's actually some work to be done. No wonder they are cheaper than ice cars.
