Got this error today (2nd time its happened, 1st was before xmas). When it happens and you restart the car it doesn't move. Had to sit about for 15mins till could move again.

Booked in for next week, the mechanic hasnt seen it before. He ask if i was using the rapid chargers.

Anyone else experienced this problem and got it fixed?

Weird! I'd probably do basic things like check tyre pressures are correct as that can upset traction control.

Usual 12v battery voltage check as that's a gremlin cause.

I think you can turn off the traction control. I'd try turning it off and driving the car a bit and then turn it back on and drive it some more. See if it's ok then or still grumpy. If you can't turn it off I'd disconnect the 12v battery positive lead for a minute and then reconnect, lock the car. Leave it for 10 minutes. Then unlock and see if it's still the same when you start it.

Using rapid chargers shouldn't cause this. If it does then PSA have dropped a massive clanger!

I actually did my tyres today (although with a bad pump so tyres are all random psi) but that was 60 miles ago.

This issue happen first at 6000 miles and now again at 12000 miles. I cant recreate the problem. Just turning it off for 15 mins to fix

Had a looked around and some other owners have the same problem but cant find a definite answer.
Strange. Hopefully it's generated some kind of code they can read and then they can sort it out.

It’s a poor translation. It means traction as in “traction battery” not “traction control”.

It’ll be the 12v. When was the last time you drove it?

I am a delivery driver so can do 500 miles a week, it is on driving about at least 50 hours a week.

The first time it happened in winter i was idling with the engine on, the car after 10 mins will switch off the motor, did this a couple of times which might of drained the the 12v battery.

But not sure about this time although the other day when i came back to the car after 2 hours the headlights were on? I thought i had accidently pressed the key fob. Also today when i came back to the car twice the radio was on?

Yeah - I’d say 12v battery issues

12,000 miles in a year. Wow ;)

This seems to occur for several owners, myself included. It's a generic warning and can relate to a few things which only a dealer can identify by looking at fault codes. 1st time it happened to me was 3 weeks into owning car. It turned out that the 12V battery wasn't charging fully which led to car not being happy. They replaced some sort of switch. Been great for 6 months but had similar faults showing again, 2 months for dealer appt !! I suspect it's same sort of issue. Good luck.

This has happened to me today. I came across this thread which seems to suggest there’s a recall out there. Frustrating as the car had a decent run only 4 days ago.

Any luck with the dealer?
In the dealer for about 4 hours they couldn't find anything wrong, they just cleared the fault codes and updated the software.

They said would need to keep it overnight for a few days to run more test. And something about sending out a technical analysis to head office in France to get more info

I asked about a product recall but nothing on there systems.

Mechanic said ok to drive, if happens again bring it back.

Did you leave the electrics running for a period of time? ie draining the 12v battery

What did you do to get going again after the error? I waited 15mins

No haven’t left anything on. All I can think is the automatic locking/unlocking as you walk close to the car, but surely that wouldn’t be enough to drain it? Have seen 12V issues seem to be a pattern with EVs.

Same as you, I went back in the house and came out 15 mins later to try it again and it was fine. On deferred charge tonight.

i have a brand new e2008 made end of January 2021 and after 1400km i got that electric traction system fault. It all started when I noticed that the charging had gone into an error state.
Is there any information on how the repair shops have solved the problem because my car warranty repair shop has not received any repair instructions from the factory.
This is because the fault disappeared and numerous error codes remained, which do not identify the real cause of the fault.
I am also experiencing this fault/error, it has now happened twice over the space of a about a month.
I had previously experienced an Electric charge system fault and found corrosion on the auxiliary battery negative terminal (post was here e208 Battery Charge Fault warning) the negative cable from battery to chassis was replaced.

I have since experienced the electric traction system fault, the first time Puegeot replaced the negative cable again and the auxiliary battery, this evening the electric traction system fault occurred again. Both times I have called out the RAC and by the time they arrive the fault is no longer present.

Throughout this my customer service experience from both the dealers and Peugeot customer service helpline has been shockingly poor, with one exception no one has followed through on any promises or commitments to call back or find solutions, I have had to spend hours waiting in telephone queues to speak to customer service. The dealer service adviser seemed to think it was OK to joke with me about Peugeot not being able to supply parts in a timely fashion. I was never offered a replacement car, I had to ask for one and even then chase it up as no one had taken ownership. When I first tried to book the car in to have the electric charge system fault looked at the dealer phoned me the day before to say they couldn’t do the job as they did not have the diagnostic equipment, I then booked it into Robins and Day Glasgow (several weeks wait for an appointment), two days before it was booked I was called and told they were closing down and they could not complete the work as they had other higher priority work to complete! I then re-booked it in to the original dealer who apparently now had the diagnostics...

I love the car it is relaxing and fun to drive but am really glad that I only leased it for 2 years so I can buy a different brand of EV in the future as Peugeot clearly have no respect for their customers.

In the vain hope that any one senior in Peugeot UK cares enough to read any of this and take ownership I would be more than willing for you to get in touch and help resolve this...

I have same problem with a Peugeot e-expert van. Apparently the V2V (sp?) converter needs replacing, which I think is probably the 400V to 12V DC converter for the lead acid 12V battery (which has seemed fine). Its a coded part and no one can tell me when it can come. Been off the road now for 3 weeks. Problem didn't stop the car but I didn't want to ignore it when it has a big red flashing and clanging warning saying "Repair Traction Battery". Was the problem sorted for those of you that had it?
Could this recall be related?

Well, it seems I have it too.... I contacted the workshop. More next Wednesday 16 Feb 2022...

Mine did that a few times when I first had it - but I’m 99% sure it was because i was trying to press the accelerator while in N

No, this is really an error. When putting the selector in "D" it jumps back to "P". You need to put the selector in "D" or "R" and step on it right away or the car won't move. It also displays the error message right away.

I tested the advice I've seen in some places but that did not help:
  1. Close the car and leave it closed for 5 minutes.
  2. Detach the 12V battery and leave it there for 5 minutes. Using the red fast clamp on the positive battery pin.
  3. Reconnect the fast clamp to the battery: that went with a significant spark.
  4. Leave the car for a minute.
  5. Turn on the car ("start the "engine"")
  6. The car gave the error right away and was immobilized. That is worse than before we started this test. It was sitting on the driveway dead as a door nail.
  7. Close the car and leave it on the driveway for 15 minutes.
  8. "Start the engine". Now the car was behaving as before this test. Luckily. It moved again.
  9. I tested if it could take a charge. Because if that didn't work, there was enough juice to get it to the workshop and then it would be dead. Luckily it charged.
I remember from Bjorn Nyland's 1000 km challenge he had trouble charging the car and needed to detach the 12 Volt battery. That is why I tried charging.
