Got this error today (2nd time its happened, 1st was before xmas). When it happens and you restart the car it doesn't move. Had to sit about for 15mins till could move again.

Booked in for next week, the mechanic hasnt seen it before. He ask if i was using the rapid chargers.

Anyone else experienced this problem and got it fixed?

I dont know if this is in any way related but on Friday I was feeling smug in the knowledge that my car was preconditioning before I left work. Got into a fan oven! The vents were blasting hot air at me on the hottest day of the year.
Either way, it is getting dumped at the dealer on Monday morning so we'll see what they say.
The AC is often used to cool batteries and the motor so if that's packed in then it won't help. You'd think the car would monitor this and report back a warning if the AC was becoming less effective or if there was pressure loss in the system.

You would think wouldn't you. Unfortunately even before this the car has become known as the Stupid French Turd. I love the driving experience but it has a lot of quirks that I find infuriating.

Remember Vauxhall recalled a bunch of models due to faulty AC causing cars to burst into flames...

Exactly how I felt about my Corsa E. Shame PSA are consistent at filling their over priced EV's with crap components....allegedly.
I promised an update, sorry for being late.

The workshop quickly identified the "controller that sits on the gearbox" as broken. It is a part that is known to fail. The replacement part had a different part no. It was replaced in warranty. Now everything is OK again.
"Known to fail" but not recalled?

I wonder how much they are hoping to make from out-of-warranty repairs for this "known to fail" component?

How much would it have cost if not in warranty?

I am not aware of a recall and of course not of the cost either.

It is a failure one could argue is about safety. But given the fact the car only resists being driven when standing still it could be a long discussion.
Add my e208 to the list.
That sounds different. I did not get that stranded, I was able to drive it to the shop.

In the US that'd be a recall under 'lemon laws'. It has happened here too, but reluctantly.

But if it means the car can become stranded in the middle of the road, then it is always a safety thing anyway.

Not sure about your 'of course not' comment? I'd always ask 'how much would it have been..?' and ask for a receipt/invoice (even if it is £0 rated) to go in the records. It is your car, you do have a right to know what they did to it and to have a record of that, surely?
I did not ask. So I do not know. If I had, I probably would have received an incorrect answer.

Not sure of what happens in US or UK, but in Belgium when you go to an official car shop they must enter a few things in the car pass database. The visit date, the car’s kilometer “mileage” and what was done to the car. Legislation protecting second hand car buyers. I can query a report when I want, I need the report for selling on the car. It is official and mandated by law.

So sorry for the “of course” comment. I did not think about the US or UK situation being so different it would not go without saying…

Happened to me today in week old VX Mokka e in a car park. I though it was maybe because three wheels were on solid ground but 4th was on broken tarmac so moved car to more solid part of car park. Got in touch with dealer who put me on to VX HelpLine. Fault cleared itself after about 15 mins so hopefully it's in the system.
This happened last night to us in corsa e . Electric traction system fault. Problem was is happened on a busy a road while was travelling at 60mph. Power cut off and trickled to side of the road. Was stuck in park and rac tried all resetting the battering and the locking and leaving technique but no avail. Sent a recovery vehicle 3 hours later all in all was ther for around 6 hours. Car now at Vauxhall awaiting diagnosis 🙄
The only time this happened to me was when I thought I put it into prove but it was in fact in neutral and when I floored it, the car got confused. Off and on a few times and it was ok.

JJ
Added mine to the list. Brand New e208 display Traction System Fault after I finished shopping at WestQuay Shopping Centre Car Park 2 weeks ago , did some research, leave and came back after 15 mins and Thanks God it back to normal.

Taken my e208 to my dealer today, expecting to have my car back this afternoon. The Dealer called and said the technician is still looking at the it and can you leave it here for a day, we will call you tomorrow around and see what is the issue. (then go on it might need to contact the Higher Technician at France or need ordering a parts )

I was like WTF ? a Brand New Factory Build Car that I received at end of Oct and the dealer doesn't know the fault/issue is.
As I said before many times, the electronic control unit on the gearbox needs replacing by the new model. It has a different part number than the originally mounted one.

What is the build date of your e-208? I had this repaired easily in Belgium in February 2022. If your e208 build date is a later date, this may be a different issue if one assumes they would stop building new cars with the failing electronics… but one never knows I guess.

hi there ,

I ordered back in July 2022 and only received the e208 at end of October.

In Belgium each vehicle has a “conformity form”, don’t know if UK has similar, it has a field that states the build date of the car. Mine was June 2020, 1st owner received it August 2020. I am second owner for bargain price: 1st owner discovered e208 was too small for him.

Got my car back this afternoon and the dealer said they update the firmware and if problem persist they will need to order new parts

So I guess the problem was no longer there when you got the car back?
