It might be worth buying a Bluetooth dongle (not expensive) and downloading an app for your phone (this is for Android). IOS needs a wifi dongle. See what the codes are and take it from there. fI you have a friendly garage they may read the codes (for a smaller fee than Vauxhall) and then let you investigate. Given the multiple error messages, I would have said the 12v battery but if you have been told that it is relatively new then it could have developed a fault.

I had the same thing about a year ago - it worried me but I managed to get home with only a few miles left on the GOM.
I then charged it up overnight and the following morning everything seemed back to normal except that the engine warning light remained on.

Hopefully leaving the battery disconnected for a bit longer will give it a full reboot. If you can it might be worth trying to charge the 12v up or get the voltage checked when it is disconnected.

When this happened to me it was apparently caused by the car attempting to start the ICE and for some reason not succeeding. When this happens it will not try again for fear of exacerbating any possible mechanical damage.
We expect perfection these days but I can remember a time when having to press the starter more than once (on older cars) was the norm. You need to clear the fault code and you may find that all is well.
In another topic you mentioned that you thought the engine was excessively noisy. These faults may be connected so it may be worthwhile getting your chosen roadside assistance people to take a look.

Hmmm. Never had this error on our Volt in 90k miles now, of a total 105k. I only changed the original AC Delco battery for a Bosch unit at the end of August, and the AC Delco one wasn't faulty or causing problems but was doing an elimination exercise for the service high voltage system error. turns out it was a failed HV coolant level sensor that failed at 104k miles. It was replaced today total cost of £55 parts and labour by Bellingers and is now as good as gold again.

Roll on for another 100k+ miles now. Doing my own oil / filter and cabin filter change tomorrow, then book it's 6th MOT. Hopefully it will pass the sixth straight through as it has the previous 5 on the bounce.

My advice is to get it to a proper Ampera specialist. Having a second opinion would put your mind at rest and if they discover something expensive, you still have your consumer rights and can return the car to the dealer.

I'm trying to determine if my engine sounds 'normal', it doesn't sound particularly great to me but then it doesn't seem to idle and just revs itself up when you open the bonnet so it's hard to tell. Can anybody check theirs and compare it to mine?

That sounds very rattly to me. I suppose the good news is that it is a regular Vx engine as fitted to many models including, I believe, the Corsa. You should get it checked over by a Vx Ampera specialist. My advice is to take it to Bellingers - even if it means a day's drive and an overnight stay.

I thought that sounded normal TBH. Would expect anything approaching a misfire etc to throw the MIL warning light on the dash. It does seem to idle a bit higher than a regular engine from memory. Possibly due to it running an Atkinson Cycle?

It definitely idles higher, I think its default 'low' speed is 1400rpm. I don't believe its an Atkinson cycle engine though, the 2nd gen Volt's are using the newer 1.5L but the 1.4 in gen1s is used in the Corsa and Astra where it is an OTTO cycle engine.

It sounds similar to mine with the bonnet up and mine does seem to idle fast as DomJ said. I'm pretty sure it's noisier than my Prius engine was.
