Happy to inform you had a test-drive this afternoon and am now considering it.

Again I think a sub-forum is only right, particularly as there is one for the EQS which hasn't been released yet!
I tested one for a short distance today and thought it very competent.
It will definitely be on my consideration list when I change.

Seems a nice car but range too short and boot too small.
[/QUOTE
Compared to what?
It would appear to charge at a consistently good charge rate! This would help mitigate the range.

Yeah range seems decent to me, worst case should still be around 180-200 miles with a 66.5kWh useable battery.

Also the battery has such big buffers, full capacity 79.8kWh so longevity will be excellent with the degradation over time coming out of the buffer presumably.

I imagine the boot is pretty small though and I do agree that performance seems lacking. 9 second 0-60 in a £40k+ German car is pretty disappointing even if it does of course feel nippy due to the EV torque we all know and enjoy.

Having owned my EQA for exactly a month now, and driven it 1600 miles in that time, I can assure you the range is fine, as is the boot.
My wife had a B class before and the boot is the same size. The only difference is that there is only a very shallow under floor compartment, and contrary to online comments it does fit both the granny charger and type 2 cable under there.
The fast charging is fantastic. On my way to the Office in Brighton, I drove from Calne in Wiltshire to Cobham services on the M25 and plugged into the new Ionity fast charger. I then went to Greggs and hadn't even finished my Bacon Baguette and cup of tea before the Mercedes Me app told me the car was charged and at 100%. I am going to have to cut down to the Bacon Bap.
When we collected the car from Mercedes Swindon, it was at 100% and showing a range of 254 miles. We have driven it using the D Auto setting and the range has steadily increased, and varies between 260 - 280 miles. I have found the range indicator to be fairly accurate, but I don't hoon around like a YouTube tester. The record potential I have seen is 281 miles as per the attached photo. The D Auto setting uses coasting and regen and automatically starts to slow using regen when approaching speed limits.
IF you are thinking of getting one, I would thoroughly recommend it. I have been massively impressed with this car. I have owned over 75 cars in my driving life, (Including Rolls Royce and Bentley). I traded in my Bentley Continental GTC for this Mercedes EQA 250
148224
and have found this one the most impressive for just how good it is at what it does.

We test drove one recently along with the Q4, Q5 and Mach E. coming from a GLC, the EQA felt too small ( in my wife’s opinion) and the interior quality was below that of the GLC.

My favourite was definitely the mustang though!

How many times have you charged to 100% and what is the Miles to travel, as mine charges to 100% only goes to 230 miles well below 250 miles as per the EQA brochure.
Not a good sign for my EQA battery.... down already from the list of 250 miles for 100% charge.

Interesting comment re the interior quality. I currently drive an e class estate well specced inc the full widescreen, 4matic and air suspension and am about to receive an EQC which I thought even better than the e to drive and the e is a pleasure with the 9 speed box. However I was disappointed in the interior trim, yes it is good but in comparison to the e not good enough. The widescreen is narrower, the awful black piano central console cannot be changed for the wood trim yet the door panel can be🙄, there are only switches to lower the rear seats in the boot not at the side of the seats, no carpeting on the back of the tailgate just all plastic and these were the obvious ones yet the EQC is still dearer than the top e class I could have ordered. I anticipate all this will irritate me greatly and am just hoping the EV element will be enough to overcome my irritation. I am fortunate that I can swap after 18mths so I anticipate ordering an EQE as soon as I can.

Hi,
We always charge to 100% and have never had less than 254miles showing, We use DAuto all the time and the speed limiter but don't drive different to what we used to in ICE vehicles. So far been impressed at the accuracy of the miles predicted against actual, now over 2500 miles in 7 weeks of ownership. I have also made myself a Frunk for my Type 2 cable as its a pain having it under the floor or taking up space in the boot.
Have you worked out how the cable bags are supposed to be used, with a strap with a hook and two elastic hoops.

Eduardo, thanks for the information, very interesting that your car is also charging to 250 miles plus.... has that been always since collecting it the first day... What chargers have you used...
home charger 7 kW and public 50 kW.. Been into the dealers to get my wireless charger which had a faulty fan that sounded like Nividia graphics card in a home computer on full pelt.. fixed
now, they said it was down to my driving and not being gentle in the manner of driving rather more like my old car... used Instavolt and been impressed with charging speed, early days..
the charger bag CSS are in the break downable crate box in boot, 3 pin granny charger in garage. Another issue with Mercedes is my Premium Plus is missing U19 Augmented Reality and
549 MBux multimedia High... have the 548 but also HUD, never told this when car was being built that there was an parts shortage.. really piffed with the Dealer; they claimed they did not know
until the car came and looked at the sheet of options... too late. Apparently no more Premium Plus will be built for some time according to the Dealer.
Is your car Premium Plus? My build date was 1 week June.

Hi Mike,
Mine is just the AMG Line, Always had over 250 since day 1, collected 7th July, was the one on display at the Dealer, I wanted the premium plus, but the deal we got for our trade ins meant we could go electric a lot sooner than planned, but we will upgrade to the 400 4x4 next year with every extra, as we really miss the features we are used to such as Augmented reality, electric seat memory, adaptive cruise and keyless entry. When we first had augmented reality on my wife's ICE B Class we didn't rate it, but now appreciate how good it was at recognising speed limits etc, which basic nav isn't as good at. It seems to take a random guess when seeing the national speed limit signs, sometimes telling me I can go 70 on a single lane road. I have used Chargemaster home charger provided free as part of the deal, always get 6.9 kwh, and IONITY 350kw fast chargers at Cobham services charged up to 100%, 88 miles in 11 minutes, and the 50kw electric highway at Membury Services and Polar at Brighton University. Also got the free charge at Bicester Outlet Village whilst shopping which topped up the 70 miles we used to get there. Also did a trip from Calne to Ebbw Vale in Wales and back 170 miles and topped back up to 100% at the new Ionity 350kw at Chippenham Truck Stop, took about 20 minutes. (This was before we got our home charger fitted).
We always use the DAuto since discovering it and have got used to letting it decide when to coast and when to regen etc. We have done a lot of motorway driving as well, which is supposed to be bad for range but always get at least what the car predicts, we use the display that shows usage and if we start with 260 on the clock, we see how far we have travelled and compare to range left, and are always plus or minus a few miles, and always at least the same or better at the end of the journey.

Hi Eduardo,
Great information on charging at the Ionity 350kW fast chargers wowe 11 minutes very nice at 100kW or slightly over know doubt, did you use the MBux navigation screen to start the charge, Mercedes Me App or Mercedes Me Charge card? interesting to know my Mecedes Me Charge card is activated (including payment method, first card had authenication failed, trying to charge, second card entered but not tried as my home charger is installed) through the Mercedes Me Portal, however in the Mercedes Me Charge under contracts my Ionity Premium contract subscription states Cancelled after trying to use an BP Pulse Charger 50kW with failed authentication.. reported to Mercedes Me Charge support email to ask why, after two days of picking up the car was the subscription showing Cancelled, and can activate again in a years time... lol payment method on 2nd card now, deleted the first, not had time to try out yet.

Yes have now started using the setting for DAuto as well, sometimes when driving up to a roundabout change to D- and you will immediately noticed how effective the recuperation is taken place and instantly slowing the Big Girl down lol. I have HUD and use it on all the time including the daytime for recognising speed signs works beautifully... just for info i have found a Merc Specialist near down your way North London who codes, name is Rajeev of RJ Automotive, plenty of good reviews from around the world on trustpilot and can do the Adaptive Cruise Control and many other items... and retro fit AR with 549 but is quite costly... £1500 plus but i am very interested in ACC.

Today have tried setting up my Blackvue DR900S 2Ch with B124 battery pack, (taken out of previous car before part ex) using rear cigarette holder (5A) works great, the rear camera is very clear
as i was concerned with the tint on the back window would effect it, not so.. cigarette holder in front works well, my previous car was hardwired for the 9A but when i tried to find the rear fuse box in boot, after lifting out the mat, undoing 2 screws holding the board down and looking inside, i could not find it... for hard wiring into a switched 15 amp fuse.

Hi Mike,
Used the MBUX, The first time I just plugged the car in and pressed start charging on the MBUX. It a bit irritating though having to tell it to find chargers near you and select which one when you have already plugged in, you'd think it would know which machine you are plugged into. Tesla has the edge here for sure. I had a few problems trying to use BP Pulse chargers using Mercedes me card, so am having an RFID car sent out, as the ex polar ones at my office aren't on the app, so can't use that. I'm going to Milton Keynes tomorrow so will try the BP Pulse app. Also had to download the the Electric Highway app to use the one at Membury services, and the Podpoint app, so far Ionity and one at Toby Carvery in South Croydon is the only ones I have found that accept the Mercedes me card.
I don't understand why Mercedes did not fit a plastic cover under the bonnet like on the EQC and there is plenty of room to fit a Frunk for the cables, it's a pain having them in the boot as once you have reversed up to the point you can't open the tailgate due to the metal posts they stick around the chargeposts. I have made my own frunk using a plastic box which holds the Type 2 cable fastened to the brackets on the frame. I keep the granny cable under the boot floor, as if I need to use that I have probably emptied the boot.
