I am going to a hotel in a very remote spot. I asked if they had a charge point and the answer was "yes - it’s a Tesla charger. But will accept other makes of car"

Can anyone tell me how that works, please? I thought Tesla chargers were for Tesla cars only with fixed cables.

It’s probably a Tesla Destination Charger, they’re Type 2 AC, and if they say it works with any car it must be one of the white ones.

I think that’s the right way around, there are also Red ones which are still Tesla only.

Don’t forget to move it after 2 hours once your car is charged up! 🙂

Thanks for the heads up. Although I've had my GTE for 4.5 years, I've never used a public charger. So this is new territory.
It's a Tesla Destination Charger. One is red, one white. A comment from a previous resident says "...connect Type 2 on the white, and away you go"
So it would seem that I might get a top-up while staying there.
Thanks for the help, people.
