This time every year, we find ourselves trying to find a tree to fit our steed. We've gone from MINIs (for many years) all the way up to an S-Max (last year), but this year... we have a Nissan LEAF.

So, two adults, two children, one Christmas tree farm and one Nissan LEAF... Let's see how this pans out!

We will answer the all important questions... What size tree is right for our EV!

Starting with a morning wash, I'll keep you informed. ;)

So here's how it panned out.

First I got really "sciency" and measured the boot. You know, to look all manly and like I'm planning things properly. This suggested a limit of about five foot for fitting a Christmas tree in "at a slight angle"...

So off we head to our local Christmas tree farm, armed with the a tape measure and some warm clothes.

My Son and I, fuelled by free mulled wine and the spirit of the season start – so we were told – over ambitiously...

So I went for something shorter, slightly wider...

But no, the children get sensible and go for this one...

Which, at less than five feet tall, was an EASY fit into the Nissan LEAF. I think next year we're going to go for six foot, at least!

So there you go. My advice would be that If you have a family of four in your LEAF and need to get a tree home, keep it under five foot tall for an easy ride, put it over towards six for an interesting time.

Quick edit to say the other option, of course, is to leave the family at home, fold down all the seats and a get a MEGA TREE!!! Or strap the tree (or family) to the roof for extra room. I didn't try either of these this year, tempting as they were. ;)
