Given that IER aka Bluepoint London aka Source London aka Bolloré have stated they intend to have rental EVs, a sign of things to come is showing up in Hackney.

I was trying to find a charge point to put some charge into my car, having barely enough to get home, and BMW DriveNow rental i3 cars were hogging every working chargepoint in the area (aside from the Chargepoint Genie rapids - I don't have a membership for that scheme, so can't use those).
In one case, one was merely parked up, with no attempt to charge, just blocking the charging bay.

A quick look on the BMW DriveNOW website doesn't instill much confidence in the clients they're attracting.

"No parking tickets, leave car anywhere".

I think I raised this as a potential future somewhere on this forum last year. The stated 6,000 charge points in redacted and 6,000 EV rental cars were too conveniently the same number. Add to that the "reservation" feature they are adding and you have a sudden car rental business model with free parking in redacted - and sod the rest.
