The control pilot (CP) output to the charger socket can be found by looking for the small wire and check its on the correct pin. Then trace back to circuit board.

Single phase or three phase installation?

The socket might be wired as std for three phase (common in Spain and Portugal)..

Seems you are close to doing some "trials"

Putting a timer switch in the Control pilot (grey lead) should work?
Yes, ideally one that is SPDT to default to a resistor and diode to earth. See @Tandy0 's various posts.

Single phase or three phase installation?

The socket might be wired as std for three phase (common in Spain and Portugal).
Looks like it - there are only two wires (L and N) going into the contactor, although it is a 3 phase contactor like in Rolecs.

The Shelly switch with its isolated relay might be just what you need, different versions are available including DT. see link above
