Where do the emissions from the petrol engine go? I can't see a tailpipe.

When I took my Volt to a car wash on Sunday I heard the guys talking about it as they washed it. "No, it must be totally electric, it hasn't got a tailpipe"

That made me start to wonder where the gasses go too

There is one but it is well hidden. Look underneath.

As you look at the back its on left hand side. It points downwards and is tucked under the body - hands and knees job to see it!

That sounds the same as the i3 REx. I don't suppose they have to worry about fumes at a standstill seeing as it turns off as you slow down.

I am beginning to doubt that my car has got an exhaust pipe. Or even an engine for that matter. I have driven about 1500 miles and not put in any petrol and not once have I heard the purr of an ICE. In fact, i don't think the filler cap is even real, it's just painted on so that it blends in with all the other cars on the road!
