I'm not sure if the links to these videos have been posted on this forum way back (apologies if so), but I've watched them this afternoon and they're quite fascinating, really interesting explanations of how the Volt/Ampera is constructed, what all the bits do and how the whole thing works. I stumbled across them via a German Ampera forum after talking to David at the EV meetup yesterday in Port Solent.
The videos are quite long - but stick with them if you're interested in the insides of your Ampera. They are presentations at a design and innovation conference created as a result of tearing down a Chevy Volt to establish how it ticked. Apart from showing how the pieces all work together, there are some interesting insights into the complexity and quality of the engineering involved. I really started to realise what an amazing piece of engineering the car is, and why its costs so much!
