Favour please - Space between variable floor?

I’ve just picked up a space saver for the ID.4, and wondering if it would fit beneath the variable floor if I retrofitted it?

The space saver appears to be about 15cm deep, might just fit if I removed what is currently the bottom carpet.

Can somebody who has the variable floor measure the space underneath it please?

Ta!

I'll set a reminder to measure that when I get home from work in a bit, IIRC it is around 10-12 cm.

Not the greatest angle, but it looks to be exactly 10 cm:

Thanks so much for doing that, even with the lower carpet removed I’m a couple of centimetres short I think. Story of my life… 😂

I’ve got the space saver spare in the VW bag, and it’s anchored to the lower load tether lugs so can’t go anywhere, and the lower floor is just sitting on top of it now.

Plan B now then is to make some rails and then cover them in some matching fabric, and then I’ll have a level floor, the spare tucked away and the side pockets.

Ah - A spare for the ID4 ! - Can I ask where you got it? and how much?

Many Thanks
I managed to find one on eBay, £100, with the official VW bag with straps. I already had a heavy duty jack and collapsible wheel brace.
Many Thanks :) - sounds like a good deal !

Do you have any details of the seller please?
It was a private seller, so not a dealer who has any more unfortunately.

It’s a Continental 145/80/19 110 if that helps? From reading some US threads, the A8 space saver fits, and has the same size tyre.

I’m sure the bag will be available from VW too.

This is the sticker on the tyre/wheel;

Do you mind sharing a picture of it installed? Curious how it looks.

Sure I don’t mind, excuse the messy boot!
