Has anybody driven through flood water --if so what depth of water can the ampera cope with---i would guess at seven inches max --would it help to sheet off the air intakes at the front --( an australian idea! )

I remember seeing a video of Chevrolet testing the Volt in their water trough and I'm pretty sure it was over seven inches deep. The most serious problem would be if the ICE was running when it might draw in water and "Hydraulic" the pistons, but I've never checked on mine where the air filter intake is positioned. Probably safest to stick at seven inches!!
