Hi there,

I'm unfortunately looking to sell my Kia Soul EV. I purchased this can in November 2020 and it has easily been the best car I've owned. I looked at and tested a Leaf (24 & 30kWh) and the Renault Zoe, but as soon as I drove the Soul I loved it.

The car comes with all the usual Soul specs and is in excellent condition. There's a couple of tiny scrataches and stonechips on the bodywork but I'd say it's overall condition is excellent. The wheels were also fully refurbished before I bought it.

I was the 3rd owner and it has partial service history. The car had the Onboard charger (OBC) replaced under warranty in 2017, this was a common issue with the 2014-15 cars. I had the car serviced (major) when I bought the car in December and the car is under warranty until December 2022. I'm also about to have it MOT'd as it's due in August, so it will come with 12 months MOT.

It recently had a performance upgrade applied by Kia Derby under warranty (The bulletin number is KCE21-71-E020-PS EV and it is for BMS/FATC Upgrade: PS EV FATC Operation logic improvement while battery charging. This upgrade is for some 2014-2017MY Soul EV (PS EV) vehicles in order to improve air conditioning operation while battery charging.) As you can see in the pitcures on a recent test I was able to get 104 miles with 18 remaining, this was general 30/40/50 roads. On my usual commute I can easily get 100 miles with around 15% remaining. During winter (and before the update was applied) I was able to get around 80 miles to 15%. This update also allows the car to rapid charge to 94% (before the update is was limited to 84%).

Info:
  • 8" touchscreen with Android Auto & Apple Carplay support (see pics)
  • DAB digital radio, Bluetooth & mood lighting
  • Includes KIA EVSE 5M charger (Granny cable) & 5M type 1 to Type 2 charging cable
  • Onboard 6.6kW charger (Type 1) & 50kW CHAdeMO Rapid charger
  • Reversing camera and front & rear parking sensors
  • 16" Alloy wheels
  • Heated steering wheel and front seats (two stage)
  • Climate control
  • V5 and 2 keys
I'm based in the midlands, the car is currently showing 53,300 miles (this will increase as it's still in daily use). Please feel to get in touch to discuss the price (currently being offered £10k+ from WBAC / Motorway or if you have any questions or need any further information.

It is a great car, and if I could I'd keep it, unfortunately it's kinda out of my hands. Certainly going to be strange not gliding along in an EV for a while when it does go :(
Well if I was in the market I would have snapped it up myself 👍 it’s on my to buy list.!!

I bought my gf one last year, and she went and swapped it for a Smart car the next day! Three months later the Smart car was stolen & written off. She won't be getting a replacement.

Hi there.
Is this still available?
Sorry for asking a noob question, but searched and not having any luck.
Do these have a phone app or similar for remote start/defrost etc.
Also is warranty with Kia and still transferrable.
Thanks again
Dave

No, both the 27kWh and 30kWH don't have a system to remotely activate pre-heat / pre-cool at will. You can schedule a 'dumb' pre-heat / pre-cool on the 30kWh one - pretty sure the 27kWh will too.

Hi, Yeah, as has been said, the Soul doesn't have an app available in the UK. And the remainder of the warranty transfers automatically to the new owner.

Would it be viable to own this and rely on granny charging for a while ? Presumably charging a bit more regularly due to the slower rate...to keep it in the 20 to 80 window.

Yes, that’s what I’ve done for a few years. But with a 2018 30kWh Soul. If it’s stationary enough of the time it works well.
