quite amazed that the Monaco track is now the full Monaco. Never go half Monaco thats my rule.

Watching qualifying on Eurosport 2 now and...it’s, tbh, fairly dull. Haven’t watched FE for a long time and I’m remembering why (but will try and catch an actual race to see how that is) - the track is just so uninspiring and soulless, even more so with hardly any people there. And the cars just don’t ever look very fast to my eyes.

Extreme E last week was much more entertaining though, I thought.

I don’t know about uninspiring. Those landmarks are pretty tasty and apparently they’ve adjusted the course. I guess the proof will be the race.

I loved the extreme E highlights last week. It must have been impossible to setup a broadcast

Watching. IMO they need proper race tracks, not enough room to do anything fun.

Yeah...I had it on.... but can't say I actually watched more than about 10 mins of it in total. The street circuits are just dull, IMO, and it wasn't exactly as though they were driving around the Colosseum. If it didn't say it was in Rome, I wouldn't have known based on the track and trackside pictures. And safety car at beginning and end just because the track was barely even moist.

There are some decent overtakes but I'm looking forward to Gen3 racing with more power and higher speeds. I would be interested in a Formula E car around the Nurburgring because they can regen at 250 kWs!

Yes, that's more like it! At least they'll be at a decent speed exiting the tunnel.

When I was a kid turn 1 was a hard right angle, into a steep climb then hard left down the other side. Looks a lot more gentle but essentially faster

It was a design choice to change T1 slightly so you couldn't make a direct comparison to other types of racing; although it would hardly make a massive difference! I think they have also modified the chicane after the tunnel slightly as well from the normal layout.

I think it was one of my favourite races. Evans paid a huge price for climbing the grid so well

JEV made a good recovery after missing the attack mode in the middle of the race which cost him dearly, back to 4th from 8th! Fanatastic racing from DiCosta felt sorry for Evans after a mid race charge up to the front but used to much energy to defend at the end but thats Formula E!
