Luton airport is even better. Multistorey car park is £1 for EVs (with free 11kW chargers) for first 30 minutes. Ideal for no rush drop of / pick up

Our daughter was waiting in the pickup zone so I only had to stop for 30 seconds. Sadly it takes 'up to 72 hours' to activate this free service so she paid the £4.:mad:

It has always been possible to park in the Long Stay Car Park at Heathrow for 2 hours free. Drop off at the bus stands gives access to free buses every few minutes for most of the day to terms 2 and 3. At the terminal end the bus stops by the lifts closer to the terminal than the usual bun fight where taxis et al drop off. Might take 15 minutes longer but free! Same with pick up, there are plenty of parking places at supermarkets within 20 minutes drive of Heathrow to hang around if you are early. Await the call and move to the car park.

I avoid this airport at all costs!! Its now got to be the worst airport in the UK
Its horrendus. and this isnt even including with what happens inside the airport. the whole car park scenario is just a money making scam with no pick up zone.

There's an asda 5 minutes away - park there if you might be waiting a while. unfortunately there's no escaping the charges
