Was quite a disappointing experience today.
Checked B.EV website in advance before travelling as I knew I’d hopefully be looking to use the charger at St Mary’s Hospital car park on hathersage rd. website showed it was active.
Got there and there was one bay free. The other car was plugged into port A. Message on screen saying “Error Plug B com”.
Phoned customer services but they couldn’t identify which one it was as there was no identification sticker on the chargepoint. Described location as best I could and the only thing she could suggest was that it hadn’t been fully commissioned so only one plug working and Plug B deactivated to stop it tripping from mains.
Luckily after a short wait the owner of other car returned. Seemed to be a regular as he said it was temperamental but I remember exact same issue with the previous charge point, only one side worked.
Anyway I plugged into Plug A bit it never charged. Just kept showing “Scan card”.tried both CYC and a debit card. No joy.
Car park attendant told me to try the ones on 4th floor, they were occupied, nor sure if working.
On a positive note, I’ve tried the one in Bury on Foundary St a few times and it works great.
I know but I appreciate the feedback and I will pass it on for sure. We need this stuff to work! I have heard that when there isn’t enough power immediately to have 7kw per socket, they disable one until they can come back and upgrade. The bigger concern here is that they couldn’t locate the unit as the code is at the top. So I’ll certainly speak to someone on Monday and come back with some answers for you 👍🏻
