They didn't last time but with batteries severely reducing luggage space, it would make sense.

Has VW said anything about whether they will release an estate version?

I suspect it is very unlikely - I doubt the volumes would be enough to make it viable.

The mark 8 GTE seems to have carried across the engine etc from the mark 7.5 rather than getting a newer engine like the rest of the mark 8 lineup.

The Octavia PHEV is available as an estate

Too chunky, I only have one child but the GTE boot is tiny. Feeling a little old for the Cupra Leon Estate. Might end up getting another MINI Countryman Phev....

I've got the same dilemma. 4 month old baby and my current Golf GTE finance arrangement is coming to an end in May. Need something with a bigger boot. I may have to go for the Cupra Leon PHEV or the Octavia VRS iV estates with no Golf GTE estate option. Might consider the ID.4 but don't really want an SUV though.
