Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to annouce today an immediate end to all work on HS2. Contractors will be given two months to clean up and make safe all construction sites.

Funds previously dedicated to HS2 will instead be used to fund new EV charge points with an emphasis on routes that improve union connectivity, level up communities and maximise national potential. An interim report on EV connectivity is expected no later than 1 May.

A new program of grants will be available for EV rapid chargers sited at gyms and leisure centres. According to the Prime Minister "people need to get juiced at the gym"

The overhead wires are being retained. For those hydrogen trucks to recharge.
Wrong, they are for e-hgvs.

Have you seen the AA's new fleet of 'charge on the move' vans?
Depending on where your socket is, you follow them, or they follow you, plugged into your CCS or chademo socket for a top up on the move.

In flight refuelling?

Been around for years with ICE aircraft. Only a matter of time before it came to EVs.

I thought the AA were also bringing in a fleet of car sized conveyer belts, as it was a cheaper way of charging EVs, rather than carry lots of heavy batteries?

These complement their fleet of roll-on roll-off non-stop car transporters for ICE vehicle low on fuel.
The AA is brilliant at innovating and thinking outside the box.

Ah, a car transporter full of rolling roads for picking up all those stranded Nissan Leafs and Zoes that can't charge anymore because Chademo and AC rapid charging has been made illegal?
