VW overstating its mileage/range? Surely, that can't be true 😉
How many miles have you done? After 6.5k miles I find ours pretty much spot on.The title says it all really. When I charge to 100% the GOM usually says 216 miles, which with a 52kw battery is 4.1 miles/kw.
On average I get 3.5, I have had 4.1 on one occasion of driving on country roads, but 3.5 is my long-term average and definitely the average per journey so surely the GOM should read around 182 when full.
We used to have a Renault Zoe which went the other way and was always pessimistic which I think was better if anything.
Same, we just passed 15,000 miles in our 1st ed. and as long as weather/driving style doesn't change, ours is pretty accurate. I just popped out to check - it is saying 241 miles at 90%, which is 3.48 mpkWh and spot on for our recent average. (3.2 mpkWh long-term average but we took several long trips [Edinburgh, Cornwall, Paris] during the colder months and they definitely brought the average down.)How many miles have you done? The calculation is a bit more sophisticated than just charge level X long term average, it also uses recent consumption and temperature as well.
You could try zeroing the long term and since charge averages and seeing if that reflects your actual usage better?
Not really, because so much depends on external factors like weather and speed. My long-term average is 3.2 but knowing that doesn't help when I'll only get 2.3 on the motorway in the winter (180 miles is my lowest 0-100) or when I can get 4.6 around the countryside in the summer (I've gotten 356 miles on a single charge). But if you know you're long term/average mpkWh, then that takes the guessing out of it?
That is what I would prefer too.8000 miles driven and I find mine to be a little pessimistic if anything, which suits me.
Maybe you drive it faster and less efficiently than the Zoe? Does it have a 'green trainer' or such on it to say how efficiently you are driving? The title says it all really. When I charge to 100% the GOM usually says 216 miles, which with a 52kw battery is 4.1 miles/kw.

That will come in 3.1 AFAIK (ref Battery life Youtube channel). The 2.4 update provides the foundation for future OTA of V3.0 then 3.1 (still BETA).I'm pretty sure that in the upcoming software update (2.4), you will get battery percentage on the binnacle as well as/or instead of the guess-o-meter. That will be far better in my opinion.
