Just bought leaf 2019 40kwh n-connecta...does it have a heat pump.
Had regas yesterday (should asked air con specialist but forgot) it took 850gms of gas which he said very another think this may be an indicator that there is a heat pump.
Anyone know for sure??

I believe that it does indeed have one. The easy way of checking is to look at your climate control. Rotary dials = resistive heater, buttons = heat pump
I never knew that! It's far easier than the other methods I've heard of. I only knew of "dials vs buttons" to tell which infotaintment system is fitted.

When I wanted to know, I found out by using this contact form. The answer came back after a couple of days.

Mine has both :/ Rotary dials but they have buttons on them. But it has a Heat button that seems odd as I've come from VW and Audi's that I think had heatpump/AC compressor climate control as if the interior temp is lower than desired why wouldn't it just heat... why have a button for Heat?? Anyway it's a bit confusing.

Ioniq has a heat button too, so not unique to leaf. The button light comes on if the heater is being used, my guess is having the button gives you the ability to turn the heat off to save battery usage if you so require.

Pretty sure all new shape leaf have a heat pump, the base model is the only Leaf in the range that doesn’t.

Turn off the climate control if the GOM changes by 2 or 3 miles it’s heat pump. It will be significantly more if there is no heat pump.

Anyone know the heater power consumption at 25c fan speed 2 ? I'm getting 2Kw +. Surely not that much ?
My recollection is that the heat pump can't raise the temperature very well in cold weather - there is an auxiliary heater which helps bring it to temperature and then the heatpump works on its own from there.

Heating the cabin is a big drain on BEVs, that's why you have heated steering wheels and heated seats.

25c is also very high. In the winter I'm running the cabin at 18c, sometimes 19 if my wife is in the car. Drawing 2Kw while it is heating from cold, doesn't seem unreasonable to me. You wouldn't want it to be doing that for too long though....
