Heated vs Ventilated seats??

I have a Niro EV4. Throughout the winter I often used the heated seats and left the HVAC off.

Now that the weather is warming up can I use the seats in the same way but for a cooling effect? Does the car intelligently know whether to heat or cool the seats?

Doh! Thanks John. Just tried out the ventilation seats. Amazing!

There is a setting where you can link heating/ cooling seats with temp controls. I have that enabled and recently, during warm day, car automatically turned on seat cooling. Reverse was true during winter during cold days where seat heating and steering wheel heating turned itself on.

I was out driving today and as the temperature rose the AC did its job to maintain cabin temperature. But also the ventilated seat came on automatically as well when it got to around 20C ambient outside temperature.

As @kamillo said above, if you have the settings enabled to link seats to temperature, this makes this a completely set-and-forget system. Just enable that setting via Setup -> Vehicle -> Climate then Warmer/Ventilation features, and set the car to Auto and your temp, and let the magic happen in both winter and summer!
I assume this only works if the seat is occupied

Yes, at least I can say that in terms of it only ventilated the driver seat when I was the only person in the car. The passenger seat was empty and the lights did not turn on on the button in the centre console area.

Ventilated seats are up there with the best features of this car. Find that setting 1 is more than enough, but it really makes a difference to your ‘all round’ cooling

Am I right in saying ventilated seats are only on the facelift Niro EV and not the e-Niro?
Worth noting if you're driving on your own and need to save energy, turning off the climate control and just using the ventilated / heated seats to cool / warm you is significantly more efficient.

I believe ventilated seats are on the Eniro 4+ but not on the 4. Peter

Correct Peter - our 4+ ventilated seats are great

The ventilated seats are my number 1 "feature I never knew I needed but now would hate to live without".

No need to rub salt in! I would have liked that feature, especially with the seats being horrible plastic (“leather” my ass!). I don’t know how on earth they get away with describing them as leather! Peter
