This afternoon I parked at a public car park where you have to get a ticket stating your registration, from a machine and then display it. I've never done this before even though SWMBO has. (I don't do shopping!). Being clever I thought - put it at the base of the windscreen and it should jam against the facia. Jam, my foot (or what have you, I'm being polite). It disappeared - there is a gap there. Does anyone know where it has gone, can it be retrieved, could it do any harm?

Of course it necessitated going to another park as the machine won't issue another ticket for the same car at the same time.

More than likely a gust of wind has blown through the vents and you'll find its fluttered under your drivers seat. Seen that happen before, air gets into the car via the air vents when its windy.

No, there was no wind, it just fell as I let go. I can hope that an actual gust might blow it through but won't there be a heater matrix or something to block it? I've just had a thought - I presume this where the screen gets its demist - I wonder if putting the ac on demist might blew it out?

Hehehe, good memories you've brought back with this story! Southwold pier car park... never did find the ticket and after 5 minutes and three of us searching for the disappearing ticket, we ended up having to buy a new one :(
