Plug in midlands, card finally arrived after about 5 weeks of waiting and it's not recognised by its own company equipment, will now have to wait a few days to see if it is registered and try again, on the positive side ecotricity fast chargers at ikea walsall, donnington services and shardlow fantastic even though the east bound one wasn't working the guy on the phone was extremely helpful and explained how to see what was the problem, so ecotricity gets the thumbs up from me.

Yes, PiP (Plugged in Places) schemes are poor. Ecotricity are great, CYC (charge your car) are good and CM (charge master) were ok (not so good now they charge so much). ZCW (zero carbon world) are great too but specialise in simple card free, slow destination charging (hotels).

I don't have a PiM card, I'm not sure but maybe CM or CYC cards work on PiM chargers, can anyone confirm?

PIM have had some problems, when I joined my car was not recognised, it seems it had been some time since the "whitelist" (approved cards) had been pushed to their chargers. Once that had been done my card is now accepted.

Some PIM locations are changing to CYC operated, hopefully all of the plugged in places will move to CYC and we'll just have one national network/card

Have since contacted pim who assumed me the card would work by the end of last week, so I pulled up at pim charging point and no it still said unrecognised account, what have I paid this company money for its service is shoddy at best, on another matter ev charging cables, looking to buy one for nissan leaf anybody got any suggestions as I have heard the cheaters ones fail, rscomponents do one for £400 for a 32a but that is extremely expensive. Maybe some one could get machine mart to make some at a reasonable price.

If you just want a type 2 (for all standard 7 pin charge points) to type 1 (Nissan leaf) then how about this - http://nuworldenergy.co.uk/shop/product/j1772-to-mennekes-cable-32a-5m
I have one for my Tesla and it is great quality and not far off the cheapest at £165, free delivery too...

I've also seen this one - https://evconnectors.com/j1772-to-62196-2-32-amp-plugs-and-cable-dsi-dsiec-ev32p
But I do not know wether the plugs are of similar quality or not (I don't like the look of the type 1 plug but thats just personal preference! This is £150 so slightly cheaper.

Yes I would personally recommend nuWorld, I have had a few things from them and always get good service and think their products are sound...
Totally up to you though!

Note the latter from EV Connectors is +Vat, so £180.

We certainly are, or at least try to be.

Our cables are the original ZCW cables that are probably the most recommended cables on the market. We use ITT connectors that are probably the best on the market and also have a small hole to allow padlocking the car end for the more cautious EV owners.

If you have any questions, just us a line.

My experience exactly. Does anyone have a working pim card?

Mine seems to work at Church Stretton, and Telford, Shropshire, also at Leominster, Herefordshire. Had it nearly a year. They seem to be handing over to cyc locally though ie in Birmingham excluding centre

I've got one but haven't needed to use it yet as the electric highway and CYC are spreading so fast.

I received a new plugged in midlands card today with a covering letter stating that my card may not of worked correctly so here's a confirmed manually tested one.

The only reason I got the pim card was to use the sainsburys pod points which I've since been informed need a pod point card! That will take my collection of cards to 5 then!

I've had no problems with ecotricity chargers so far.
