Now the hot weather has finally arrived, a few feet (about 3 feet) of my charge cable between the garage and the car is normally lying along the concrete/tarmac drive in the sun. The cable is black. Naturally, it gets pretty warm there even before it begins carrying 16A to charge the car. I don't suppose this causes any concerns? I've not seen this raised anywhere to date - probably because we haven't had any hot weather! :)

I think if this was a problem, we'd have heard about it from California by now :)
Or Arizona :) Maybe they have white plastic insulation over there lol!

Well on the hottest day of the year, I held the cable while charging at 16A, lying on black tarmac and no problem at all holding it so can't be that hot. Also, I just noticed, the cable on my Pod Point charger has 105 degrees C stamped on it along with other things...so obviously not an issue as expected.
