I've not seen a lot of discussions about them on here, was thinking about one, as have to pay for install anyhow (no grants) so rather have one I like.

Are they any good, or are they just the same as most the others?

App any good? Updates and support?

A friend had one installed a while back and hasn't reported any problems, I'm currently waiting for an install of one.

Good news then, may make it priority option then
Artisan Electrics on youtube have a few videos about them, including a factory tour.
Yeah I noticed that last night while looking, they seem to be pretty in bed with em 😊 but they seem a decent choice.
FWIW, I think the Hypervolt is probably the third "Wow! this is a game changer!" charge point that Artisan have promoted. It seems they go into full on OTT mode whenever a manufacturer does a good deal with them. At one time they were raving about the Zappi, then came a wild rave about a Tesla TWC, now they are ranting about the Hypervolt. My guess it's all driven by sponsorship and whatever deal that Jordan Farley has done to promote something. Probably best to remember that this is a chap that charges £95/hour for work that most electricians charge out at around half that, and that everything on that channel is intended to both promote his business (which is fair enough) and to normalise the idea of very high hourly rates (which is frankly not great, IMHO). There are a lot of very good electricians around here working for under £300/day, and none that I know of working for the ~£700/day that it seems that company charges.

Yeah I gathered that, he seems to like to angle drill as well 😂
Not all charger reviews are what they seem. Not sure about HyperVolt specifically nor which content creators are being talked about, but this is worth noting!

Agree with the concern about Artisan, a bit too much.

On the Hypervolt - it looks nice, feels nice - got some bling to it. Got it installed 6 weeks ago.
I can't see my self using the led's as flashy as they are all night long during charge.
Its currently awaiting an update (to be deployed OTA) to be able run with solar power,
in the meantime, I'm waiting for my solar panels. Oh and the car 🙄🙄🙄

I live in a rented house, so anything I buy needs to be able to come with (even though my land lord keeps dropping hints he wants me to put an offer in) if I leave. So there is that, I can't do solar etc, one three story house and would be expensive, plus terraced can be a pain for that sorta thing. So don't need any of the smarts for battery walls and solar etc.

Just want something nice and reliable, that's well looked after and has the safety features etc.
I installed one yesterday, all works as it should. A bit nicer to work with than a wallbox. I think these Chargepoints are all much the same.
I would imagine Hypervolt would be quite good for aftercare. I had someone from their technical department call me a few days before to ensure I would install it to a high standard.
One feature I thought was cool was when the load is limited the led bolt on the front doesn’t light up all the way. The guy who called me told me to set it lower and boil the kettle to test the ct clamp was working. Worked well.

Very nice install, and now with Black covers, mine is standard, reducing the load does reflect on the Lightening Bolt.... as i tested with solar charging at 6 A at 1.4 kW with iboost + heating the hot water at same time using the solar load which is nice to know that nothing was pulled in from the Grid.
I am looking for my first charger, I strongly considered Hypervolt. Filled the order/enquiry form in on their website on Sunday expecting a call or communication today (Monday), but nothing.

Went onto their website to use the live chat feature @ 11 am today (Monday) to try and have a chat. The chat service was not manned even though it states it is manned from 0900am.

Not a good start. Think I will be looking elsewhere.

I would imagine they are quite busy, they are a friendly bunch. I’m sure they will respond. You might be better arranging it through your EV installer to be honest.
Live chat is working now :)

Let's see what they can do!
I’ve had super quick responses when ever I’ve tried to contact them, and sent them suggestions - even an app update got triggered in no time.
I dropped them a message asking for installer recommendations and in less than a day I'd been put in touch with their preferred local installer and the ball was rolling.

They even emailed me to follow up to make sure everything was going ok and I was satisfied with the discussion and date etc.

All sorted now, got a quote within 5 minutes after getting them on chat and waiting for the installer to contact me.

Looks like I am getting a Hypervolt!

When I spoke to my sparky, he said there's a bit of a wait on them at the moment, so hope you can find one in stock if you need it quick. But I'm still probably lwanjng that way as have to wait till mid November after Western Power sort out my incoming 60's electrical mess 😂
Car delivery should be 4 - 6 weeks out. I want it installed within 8 weeks at the latest (can plod along on normal plug charger for 2 weeks/charge at rapid chargers).
Hopefully they can deliver.
