Hyundai have already rowed back twice on the Apple link. I think Apple must have objected to the publicity

This is likely true.

Apple are extraordinarily strict about their suppliers - supplier companies are not allowed to discuss externally that they supply apple and must use a code-name internally when discussing apple, with knowledge of that codename being need-to-know.

This being announced publicly in this way can't be rowed back in any realistic manner and will have seriously damaged the relationship immediately.

Will look great, work slickly. Will only come with a 12 month unlimited miles warranty, Battery management will be terrible, they will want you to upgrade to a new model every 2 years. You Apple car will suddenly start playing up after a 2 years old with a software update you cant roll back, because you suddenly couldn't charge the car without agreeing a software update.
