Hi forum, looking at i3's again, want a late REX (2018), but it seems majority of them have AC fast charging, whereas I'd be keen on a DC fast charge option.
Is it a rare option for some reason? what option code is it?

As above, CCS DC Rapid charge support will be standard on all of the i3's of that age in the UK at least. BMW's terminology can be a little weird when it comes to EV's. Their 11kW AC cable is called a rapid charge cable (11kW AC is anything but rapid!) so you'll sometimes see oddities about if the car is capable of fast or rapid charging.

If you are getting a late 94Ah car then you shouldn't need to worry about it lacking either 3-Phase AC, or DC Rapid charges. Both will be standard, but the included AC cables (if included at all) may not necessarily support it.
