I had a play today with my new Thule footpack and fitting kit for my roof bars . Thule Evo Flush Rail 710600 with fitting kit 186009, the footpack will fit all Thule roof bars including the square bars.

Roof box is a VW 340 litre very lightweight at only 13kg and takes a capacity of 50kg, roof weight capacity is 75kg.

When the weather improves in a few months I will be fitting my Autohome rooftop tent for a camping trip. I will be interested to see how much either of them will have on mile per kWh.

Curious what the impact will be with roof box compared to just a full load in the car.

Whilst slightly different topic, of towing (but on same concept of holidays!), Ive been speaking to a friend today who would love to move to EV but he tows a caravan and so thinks he is still at least 5 years away from a suitable ev. At the moment he is likely to go for a Jag PHEV because it can tow and he wont get stuck for power in the middle of nowhere!

I did point out with a EV that tows when he gets to a site he can leave the car on a granny cable all day!) But his concern is he will drop to 150 mile range and that isnt enough when towing.
