I had a play today with my new Thule footpack and fitting kit for my roof bars . Thule Evo Flush Rail 710600 with fitting kit 186009, the footpack will fit all Thule roof bars including the square bars.

Roof box is a VW 340 litre very lightweight at only 13kg and takes a capacity of 50kg, roof weight capacity is 75kg.

When the weather improves in a few months I will be fitting my Autohome rooftop tent for a camping trip. I will be interested to see how much either of them will have on mile per kWh.

Curious what the impact will be with roof box compared to just a full load in the car.

Whilst slightly different topic, of towing (but on same concept of holidays!), Ive been speaking to a friend today who would love to move to EV but he tows a caravan and so thinks he is still at least 5 years away from a suitable ev. At the moment he is likely to go for a Jag PHEV because it can tow and he wont get stuck for power in the middle of nowhere!

I did point out with a EV that tows when he gets to a site he can leave the car on a granny cable all day!) But his concern is he will drop to 150 mile range and that isnt enough when towing.

I found the roof box reduced fuel economy by up to 10% on my eclass estate on the motorway. So interested to see the effect on an aerodynamic EV.

Looks good #teamwhite.
Be interesting to see the roof top tent when you get it on and 'pitched'.

N.B. Does the tent have legs that take some of the weight when pitched?

LOL the angle makes it look like the roof tent has a tv aerial on it!
Looks awesome... i didnt realise the roofbars would take the weight if a couple of adults.

Static they will. Heck, they'll take the weight of the car potentially.

But the load limit manufacturers apply is for dynamic loading i.e. cornering
