Hi all,

The lucky owner of a 35kw e-golf here. 12,000 miles covered and we all know how great EV's are! .. My job mileage can vary to site inspections between 20 and 300 mile round trips and i find that the only frustration of an early-ish adopter is the range (plus the poor quality network on the motorways for charging) of the car. its good on the motorway for 100 miles minimum in any weather driving sensibly but a 300 mile journey generally needs 2 well times charges..

I am looking to pre order a car with the best range possible in the next year or so and the ID3 seems the logical choice.

Do we know when the bigger ranged ID's will be available for pre-order? Delivery?

I assume its a case of going into a dealer to sort this (hoping to part-ex the golf as part of this).

Thanks all..

Ben

In the next couple of months or maybe even towards the end of this month.
Once all the 1st's are delivered VW need to keep their "new" factory fed! 馃憤

A couple of weeks back I asked my dealer when the 77kWh Tour spec would be likely to be delivered. He checked with VW UK and a couple of hours later got back to me to say that they'd told him that December was then the target for deliveries of that trim to customers in the UK.

I might be interested in the 77kWh ID3. Trying to read up on the specs, but I'm a bit confused - what does the Tour miss out on compared to the Max?

Booked in for a test drive (of a 1st) at the end of the month, so will see what I think then.

If you open this link using Chrome and then use translate to get in English, only the configurtor part doesn't translate.

The specifications for the various models are the same in the UK but I'm not sure we get all the models.
The items you loose on the Tour over the Max are the pano roof and dcc but you gain the 19inch alloys the same as the 1st edition. All the models including the Max get 18inch steel wheels with hub caps as standard only the Tour gets alloys. The 19inch ones are a 拢1100 option on other models.

I like to keep the options to a minimum and thought the 拢1k cost of the Tour over the Max after adding those alloys was worth it to get the bigger battery.

The other main thing to note about the Tour (and other 77kWh ID.3 variants) compared to the Max is that it's only licensed for 3 passengers plus driver, because of the extra weight of the battery.

Thanks both - shame about the DCC not being an option. Wondering if the bigger battery and larger wheels might make the ride a lot firmer?

Extra for the heat pump as well, I wonder if it'll make as much of a difference as it's claimed?

Ordered a 77 kWh Tour today with estimated December delivery.
In the uk? Can I ask how? I went to my main vw dealer yesterday and the guy who knew about them said it would not be possible to order anything other than the original smaller battery 1st edition until the very end of the year, with delivery in April at the earliest but more likely late summer..

my dealer said I could preorder with delivery estimate for dec but he didn鈥檛 have the full spec yet. He only knew the price of paint and heat pump.

I ordered through VW Cambridge and they had the full spec so can't understand why all dealers don't have it. I'm sure this was a preorder but thought it a good idea to get in as soon as possible.

The cost of the heat pump is high and don't think it's worth it especially with the bigger battery. I currently run a Kia e Niro and that has a heat pump but there's still a big difference in efficiency summer to winter.

Generally more weight helps the ride but it does depend on spring and damper rates. I seen mixed reviews on VW's DCC benefits and haven't doticed any rave reviews on the First Edition Max ride comfort over the Plus.

No wind up I have an order number and the dealer had all the specs. It may not be official released yet but it's possible to preorder the car now.

So Cambridge VW have a full UK ID3 series price list? They let you choose the 77kwH Tour from a fully priced configuration list?
If so i'll contact them. Is it the vindis one??

I only asked about the Tour but presumably they have details on the others. Ask for Jenny she is the Id specialist her number is 01223 424472 say you got the information from me, like to keep in her good books.

Rang Cambridge VW. Jenny unavailable spoke to Tom in Sales. He only had 1st Edition pricing. Said Jenny may have more, left a message for her to ring me back.
No call back.
Chasing Sales people is against my religion so I'll be patient and go more local.
But thanks for the heads up!
