ID3 Style Pure Performance range-ometer untrustworthy

I bought my ID3 in May 2021 and took it home at the end of September. Max range as advertised is 217 miles, but the reality is simply nothing like it. I find the experience of driving the car stressful, as I can simply not believe what the range-ometer says. Take today - it’s 2.5degrees and a full charge only have me 161 miles (in eco mode). For every mile I drive it’s taking at least three off the range. So that 161 miles might only be 50 miles in reality. And that’s with the air con off!
So that put an end to me using the car for a relatively short 100 mile trip - I had to rent a petrol instead (because on top of the ID3’s lies, you can’t find a reliable charging station on the M11).
Honestly, I think this WLVT business is the next car scam. We had it with diesel emissions and now it’s battery range. 217 miles!? Try 100 just about in fair weather!
I feel I’ve been seriously conned into buying what turns out to be a very expensive car for a city runaround.

Only 90? Weak sauce ;)

One of my mates was very happy when his boss said he was getting a 2 litre fuel-injected turbocharged company car in the late 1980s.

Pity it turned out to be a Montego turbodiesel!
Try explaining that to the unmarked car on your arse for 2 miles.

(Though they're as common as rocking-horse shit so you'll be fine no doubt)
There are more unmarked cars around than you might think, and in many ways are more effective at catching actual offenders than marked cars where everybody near them drives like a saint. 😂

I was in a queue behind an accident on the A1 the other week, a few cars were using the slip road to exit at a junction a good mile up the road, and it was very satisfying to see one pulled over by an unmarked car a few yards to my left on the hard shoulder. 👍

Forces have cut their traffic departments over the years, but speaking to ex colleagues I believe that trend is reversing now, as there’s a realisation that driving standards are going backwards.

Also, sending in dash cam footage is becoming a thing, more forces are setting up web pages where you can upload poor driving, and they will take action. Enforcement has always worked on a flag system before dash cams were common, call in some bad driving and a note is made, somebody else reports some poor driving and the police take more of an interest.

I sent in some front and rear dash cam footage of a lorry driver dangerously tailgating me, didn’t think much of it, but a police officer contacted me a week or so later and said the driver had been spoken to. Good stuff, and something to bear in mind next time people play silly buggers.

Oooooo. Now if i can get my Tesla's true GPS speed displayed on my Tesla cam footage , of me going a true 69.9 mph, can i mail in hundreds of clips over every speeder "passing me" ? Could be thousands over a month, all 10 second edited clips.

Even on a 1% conviction rate would keep me busy having fun.

No chance of a speeding conviction without a certificated speed measuring device - footage of elite arsehole driving on the other hand goes down nicely with conviction targets I bet.

i found this a comfortable speed to close one eye at a time and let one side of my brain have a sleep while the other side drove the car.
I wonder how the OP got on with her journey anyway, today wasn’t it?

Swifts do that - it's how they can stay in the air for months without even touching the ground.

Probably on a hard should of the M11 waiting for a RAC EV van to get their 7kw generator T2 to get their ID3 to 10% so they can reach the closest rapid , muttering " i hate those know all bastards on speakEV"

Or ramming Crypto Kid off the road.
Not if they are limiting themselves to 70mph due to range anxiety, i will be always ahead at 72mph in the Tesla, so they will never catch me. Man the future is looking sweet.
@Crypto_Kid, I and most others are not the least bit interested in you, what you get up to, or how many points you have on your licence. Go away (hopefully forever), and let the thread revert to discussing the ID3 and its GOM.

Yes of course, some are boring like you, some like to treat all online forums like the pub, tell tales, have arguements and live a little.
I rather suspect that if anyone was as rude and obnoxious as some posts on here, whilst they were in a pub, they might well end up with a fist - tooth interface problem . . .

How? Never a truer word spoken is the hardest bloke in the pub is not the biggest, or the best fighter, but the one most willing to do unspeakable damage to someone else without personal fear of the consequences.

Which is why a lot of people these days get stabbed to death.
