In other words, the new Pegg/Frost film The World's End is absolutely stuffed full of Amperas.

We all thought it was funny that there was a billboard poster in the background of a scene early in the film. Then when I saw a second one, I started to smell a rat. Pretty soon there was a car parked in the background and by the end they must have been in shot 100 times.

And yet I can't get one as a courtesy car and folks here can't buy one.

I don't know what Vauxhall were thinking: The underlying point of the film is the homogenisation of British life and I don't think having a car park full of identical Amperas sends a good message set against that background...


Honestly, I haven't seen such in yer face promotion in a film since Tomorrow Never Dies. Apart from that it is pretty funny.

Well, I can't say I am surprised. Vauxhall has displayed a certain lack of ability to properly engage with their customers... but then again, they are not alone in that respect as far as car manufacturers are concerned are they.
