In car digital manual won't install

I've recently acquired an ID.4 which is still running ID Software 2.1 (and booked in for the 2.4 update in mid August). The car runs fine but I noticed that the in car digital manual fails to install. It keeps saying it is installing and not to turn off the ignition, and then says it failed and try again later. I have good phone signal, and even reset the car to factory settings next to the phone mast! Just wondering if anyone else has seen this? Hopefully it will be resolved when the car gets the 2.4 update.
Another datapoint is if I go to the web version of the manuals and input the registration or the VIN I only get the readme manual and not the full user manual, so just wondering if that is connected and it is VIN related that is preventing the full manual.

On my ID.3 the in-car digital manual is fine but I, too, only get the readme when going to the web version with my registration or VIN. So, it's not as straightforward as one problem automatically implying the other.

I know it's a pain being unable to fully access the features of the car is a pain, but you're not missing much ... the 300 page pdf manual (is you can go through the pain of looking through it) is significantly better ... fingers crossed for the 2.4 update .. you'll have to let us know how it goes...

I had some good luck yesterday and this time it did install. On startup I sat in the car until comms were established before hitting the brake pedal. Then within a minute of driving off got the system update message for the We Charge app and the usual digital manual being installed. This time the manual did install. Maybe getting the We Charge app update helped in some way.

The web manuals remain the same.
