Yes, I'm thinking of going that route as it isn't particularly cheap even after the grant has been applied.
Where to source my own charger though? That's another minefield!

My very biased answer to your question where to source charger would be Viridian/ Eco Harmony because I have installed several of them and they are solid bits of kit, easy to maintain in Inverness by ANY electrician.

North of the border has the OLEV grant and the EST cashback, which should knock £650 off the price. Think I ended up spending about £300 on my install, so the £650 gives a significant discount.

If you're wanting to source your own, I've seen some chargers in Toolstation, but I don't know if they have a big range or just a few.
