EDIT - They seem to be going in between the exit road from the carpark & the main building. Where the billboard is on Google Street View.

I'll still only believe that EcoT has any intent of mass roll out is when all the units are up and running and don't break down after 3 uses. Until then my flag stays firmly furled.
Exactly — they also have to be committed to effectively and properly maintaining whatever they actually manage to install.

The new units are Tritiums. Same make as Instavolt.

I don’t know, but I expect they still require some fairly regular maintenance though.

For example, I’ve heard that ABB units, which should be highly reliable, are not particularly reliable in the UK because apparently ABB don’t have a well established presence here. In Europe, they are more reliable, so I’ve heard.

Instavolt is consistently top of the public charging network rankings partly due to their rapid approach to maintenance, more often fixing any issues before they become widely known. Even though Ecotricity are using Tritiums, which are one of the most bullet-proof of chargers, they will still need to provide a decent level of maintenance to ensure we don’t see lots of them unavailable for long periods of time. I hope they have a better maintenance contract than they do with the ABB and other legacy units.

The post I linked also says they have 7 chargers on the Southbound side, coming on line by the end of the month.
Seven northbound would have been better, with BIGGER SPACES

Maybe Instavolt could get the maintenance contract for EcoTs units? :sneaky:

Early on DBT maintained EH DBT chargers. That didn't work out.

Quite a reason to be hopeful, but, it's Ecotricity. Not much of a reputation to go on. I live in hope.

We’ll have to organise a meet-up at Rugby MSA on opening day and see if we can all charge at the same time ;)

I think it needs:-
1/ Reliable chargers
2/ Excellent quick maintenance (even the best chargers will fail at some time)
3/ Proactive customer focused management
4/ Investment in hardware software and people

99% of the EH will still be a shambles after Rugby is commishioned.

One site will have 1/ one site may have 2/ anything involving Dale will never have 3/ and 4/

Here's a link to ZAPMAP News on the new Instavolt installation at Corley.

I read an article in the Daily Express about Dale Vince planting trees in respect of his ownership of Forest Green Rovers and he plans a plant a tree for every 0 - 0 draw in the football league. The article described him as an "INDUSTRIALIST"
I have heard of artistic license, but that's taking it too far, surely. 😀

Enjoy, the guy from Welcome Break sounds very enthusiastic about the link up with Instavolt, lets hope this is the future of MSA's.

Me too.

The DBT/CEV units were never good, even in the early days when DBT were doing the repairs. I've heard that parts are difficult to come by now which is why nothing is getting fixed. The DBT chargers should have been scapped years ago. EH promised a lot and didn't deliver.

I hope this will all change. I'm seeing lots of planning applications. Rugby is happening. I hope that this will be a big turn around and two years from now EH will be near the top of the charts.

If the company can pull this off, they should rebrand once the DBT chargers are gone. The EH brand is badly damaged.

The one that bothers me to no end is BP/Chargemaster. They could be doing a lot better. My personal experience with them has been worse than EH. BP/Chargemaster are the ones lobbying to kick EH off the services. I don't want that to happen.

I prefer Intavolt's approach. They are putting in rapids at good locations.

I think you will find they were lobbying to have access to MSA's. Not kick out EH. EH got two stars in the survey. These were for location and facilities. If they were not at MSA's they would have gotten any stars at all. EH were the ones running the show they were the ones responsible for choosing DBT's and the maintenance. They chose the cheapest option on both counts getting most for free.

Someone in one of the threads suggested Tesla were paying for the Rugby EH chargers presumably if that was true then it must be part of the secret settlement. We can only hope that Tesla are responsible or paying for the maintenance as well.

That isn't happening.

BP/Chargemaster are putting in rapids at MSA forecourts. The plans I've seen show only 2 rapids per location.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but most of the DBT chargers at MSA 's originally belonged to NISSAN Motor Co (there is a plate on the rear that says this) - NISSAN then did a deal with Ecotricty to take over the responsibility for them. Which they did and made bad chargers worse, it was okay at the beginning when LEAF's and ZOE's were the only EV's on the road and charging was free. Today they don't cut the mustard, those that have been adapted struggle to dispense CCS, while CHAdeMO might okay for a slow charge.

LOL - NISSAN even installed DBT's at their dealerships and most of them don't work there, either (NISSAN Portsmouth for example)

You have answere the wrong question. My reply was to the one where you said BP wanted EH barred from MSA's
