I need to add a timer to the granny charger of my wife's EV. We've just had a SmartMeter installed, so need to schedule charging for 00:30-04:30

This is the unit I have been using which is rated at 13A (Max Load Power: 2990 W), and the charger is 10A (up to 3300W). I thought I'd be able to get away with this, but as you can see from the photo it seems that the smart switch has gotten a little warm.
Any suggestions or recommendations for a suitable timer?

  1. I'd build my own charger using the Viridian Protocol controller and put a timer on the pilot line ( 12v, tiny current). This setup works perfectly with the triplets.
