With a fairly regular need to charge in central Birmingham I am surprised by the lack of a decent charging infrastructure in central Birmingham being the UK's 2nd most populous city. Compared with Coventry for instance it seems very light. Anyone any ideas as to why?

Because Birmingham City Council haven't any real policy in place around EVs. The cynic in me thinks they need all the money they can get from congestion charging so probably don't want to encourage EVs as that won't bring them any income.

Have to agree that it almost looks deliberate, as mentioned other cities in the same area such as Wolverhampton and Coventry look much better covered. I think there should be some sort of legislation that all big cities have to have a certain number of Rapids per head of population.

There are two 'free' EV charge points on Temple Row. They have not worked for several months. I plug in and use it as free parking when giving blood. Poor show for the 'second' city.
